Nope, just cherry veneers between the walnut, that's on all of the Standard necks now, has been for almost two years.

On the back of the neck it almost looks like stringers, it must be the way the light was hitting the grain.

If you look at the back of my Century Standard 5M neck, it's the same, just a veneer. My older fretless Century Standard 5JB doesn't have them, it's something Tony added to the process just after I got the fretless.

I don't have a pic, but I have those veneers between the 3 neck pieces and between my BEM fingerboard and neck. That looks really cool. I'll try to get a pic this weekend.

I just got it today. had it shipped to work, got home and checked my messages for the tracking number, checked the tracking number and it said "delivered". D'oh! I drove all the way back to work to get it. absolutely beautiful in person. neck was dead straight and there was a touch of fret rattle so I tried to adjust the truss rod. the wrench wasn't fitting right and got me all nervous that something was wrong with the truss nut. nope, the truss wrench was twisted at the tip causing it to not fit properly. went through some tools, found another and it fits perfectly. all is good. just need to spend some time dialing it in. as it is it is a very smooth playing bass and very punchy. the midrange is so thick. I'm really liking it so far.

Just an "I love this bass" bump for a beautiful bass that sounds amazing. I want it - even if it isn't a Century…and that Century PJ5. Greg has all the cool Roscoe's.

Here's a new Roscoe that came & went in less than 24 hours. Mitch in CT saw this on Roscoe's facebook page and contacted me about it before the bass even got here. I love it when that happens! LOL Thanks, Mitch!

The bass is really spectacular, both visually and tonally. It's got a big low end that is controlled, and there are plenty of mids and highs so the articulation is really great.

Here's a fresh Koa top that I just put on hold at the Roscoe shop yesterday. It's got some nice, tight flame figure, and Gard tells me it is consistent across the entire board (even though it seems to fade a bit in the lower part of the photo).

This one is available for a Standard Plus bass (LG, SKB or Century), let me know if you'd like to use it in a special order for yourself!
