Double Bass A on the D string...?

I'm playing Animas that are terrific, but...The A on the D string is always thunky, and in position sounds slightly out of tune. I have to modulate that one note to sound in tune; amplified or not. Could I have a flat spot do these strings sometimes have their quirks, and is this one of Velvets?

I figured this out. My bridge has been snaking back on me. I reset it into position and the funky note is gone.

Your bridge has been turning into a snake? I mean, Carlos Santana's guitar turned into a snake in his hands at Woodstock, but that took drugs.
