You are a very RUDE person, a newby asks for help. and you have you have to be mean and nasty? I Don't think that is what Talk Bass culture is about.
19 likes... some people just don't like to/want to/ feel like .. getting into the gutter with the haters. I personally don't care... thick skin.
and you're an expert on TB because you've been here just over a year now? And what are you talking about? I always give help where I'm qualified or informed. The idea is to give good help, and not just spout about stuff you have no experience with.
8 pages with 50% of the posts from the same clowns... the 19 UNIQUE likes and 9 positive posts, plus 3 PMs adds up to more people in agreement with me than against after you cull thru the repeated hater posts. I win, you lose!
I think most any "old-timer" here will usually have a quick first impression of a bass, or bass gear when he/she sees it in a shop. Sometimes there is the "eye candy" effect, and sometimes there's the dark horse. If someone asks about the new xbrand bass or amp, and I think I can add some info (not knowledge) I will. Like most all of us, trying gear out in a store does not tell me much, but I do get a first impression.
With so many choices and options, I really don't mind folks who say: I played one at GC, and I thought it was a little heavy, has a wide neck, shoddy craftsmanship, etc.
The other side of the coin is someone like me who owns a certain bass for years is naturally going to give it a positive review.
With the internet, there will always be plenty of chaff. We need to sift through it to get to the wheat.

The first comment against you has more than that. Go ages and count those up for is, and again this is not a hateful community, we just don't like being told when or if our opinions matter.

I have 13 for just the OP, then another 15 on follow up posts... those who agree are a silent minority ... 3 PM'd me to tell me how they agree but don't like the hate directed at them when they express such views.. I'm thick skinned, don't really care.
I can't help but wonder then - how many Squiers have you owned for extensive periods of time? In the past you've panned them, but you do have real life experience with any?
if someone .... is such an expert ... why would such an expert give a flying crap about anyone else's internet ramblings ... ? such experts should just type away and shouldn't be bothered reading what the little people have to say .. !
some of us have done this for several decades ...i can and have really gotten a good feel for what i put value in via owning , playing , reading , figuring out things i like and don't like , etc .... value is only true to the one who paid the bill .. ! but i don't have to buy something to have an opinion on it's value, to me ... can i afford a CS bass , ... or several ... yeh i can ... so what .! that does not make my opinion anything other than mine !

never owned one, I won't lie.. I've played quite a few, and might get one for travel, but haven't gotten around to it.
