A thread for with which to vent.

The Gorn Captain from TOS was the coolest Gorn. There was another Gorn later on in Enterprise who looked like a small dinosaur. The TOS Gorn looked like he came from the same pool of primordial ooze as us; a nearly-human skeleton with a lizardy exterior. He probably had a more dominant portion of lizard brain than us also.

Now that 8675309 has officially changed his name, I'm more ascared of him than before the change.
Enterprise's Gorn was a fail. They shoulda had a guy in a suit like the original. Not this nonsense:

and no need to be ascared. One has to have a certain maturity to become a captain in the Gorn Hegemony.

Thank you for starting this thread. I have been meaning to get this one off my chest for ages.

Often, when I am in shopping mall parking lot, and I'm backing out, people walk right behind me and get indignant when I don't stop. You know, maybe just maybe, I don't have perfect vision when I'm backing my 4x4 out. Would these brainless people not walk out into traffic when drives have perfect forward vision? No, they walk behind cars and get pissed off if I don't see them.

Yet another example that the zombie apocalypse has started.

Thank you and you're welcome.
I had a Ford Econoline van with waht was called west coast mirrors. I'm getting ready to back out and see someone walk past the driver side mirror. But they never walked past the passenger side mirror.

The individual was hiding in the back waiting to get hit.

Now I park out in the sticks and try to pull all the way through so I don't have to back out.

Vent - cheap @zz computer keyboards. I got a new PC about 2 weeks ago, custom build, picked a snazzy keyboard with backlite keys(for late night porn surfing, duh). Anyway, within hour or two I realize it doesn't pick up presses on the spacebar unless you are right in the center. I try taking off the spacebar(have done this before) but break it. In disgust I go to Best Buy and buy another keyboard. F'n shift key has an issue. Got out my old, filthy, coffee and booger/sneeze stained keyboard....typing away like a chimp on steriods, no issue.

Work has been relentless lately.

I'm still working a minimum of 50 hours a week, with at least two weeks out of a month demanding 60-70 hours. To top it off, we still receive no additional compensation for the time worked. As it stands, I'm making less now, per hour, than I did when I was 14 years old and reffing soccer on the weekends.

This has driven a good number of the management team to quit over the past few months. We were already stretched thin in regards to management, and we have now reached the breaking point. Some of our most senior supervisors, in several of our departments, only have 4-5 months worth of experience.

Upper management has also been reluctant to promote assistant supervisors into the recently vacated supervisor positions, despite many assistant supervisors working the same hours, taking on the same responsibilities, and performing the same jobs/functions of both previous and current supervisors.

Moral is down, everyone is worn out, and even more people plan on leaving over the next few weeks. To say things are grim is an understatement.

This is our future. More work, more hours, less pay... More $$ to the top. I guess all you have to do is pull out a cell phone and make a call, extended vacation.:beaver:

I had a biking accident, almost killed myself. The first thing I thought in mid-flight was "finally, it's over".

Yeah, I'm going to see a therapist next week.

Edit: Ha, I forgot to vent. Meh...

It's weird how time slows down in a life-threatening situation. When I was injured in a fall at work 10 years ago, it took two days for me to fall three stories.

That entire post, although a rant, is thoroughly funny. Technology, as great as it is, still sux.

3 stories? Not bad, not bad...;)

I flew for only a second but it felt like hours. So many thoughts, regrets, memories in a single second.

I was glad it took so long for me to hit the floor from where I fell. I was somehow able to right myself and land standing from a head first fall. I kind of shattered most everything below my hips, but that's better than being a veg for life.

Enough with people who make arbitrary rules about what you should or should not wear after a certain age.

I'm a law-abidin', tax-payin', bills-payin', grown-azz man! I'll wear what I want, when I want, at whatever age I want!
