You've underscored something I find really irritating - user names that are so ambiguous it is hard to refer to them or remember them in a normal "name" fashion. 7 numbers is a phone number, why would I want to connect it to a person or personality on such an informal basis? Ditto with "ajwe8y90" type names - egads, pick something that at least contains a real word that's how people remember, by connecting a name with a face! *There is finally a feature to change your user name.

I didn't plan on being here so often. I think I signed up to ask some dumb question and didn't expect to spend hours a day here and buy and sell dozens of basses. I can apparently change it now but I have no idea what I'd change it to.

That's one of the reasons I'm glad everyone can have an avatar now. It's easier for me to remember some users by their "face".

Off this off topic topic: On the new TB, if you're not logged in, signatures don't show (on mobile devices anyway), just like thumbnails weren't expandable unless logged in when the site relaunched. They are now. I wonder if that's one of the things that need fixin'.
