I have no objection to that characterization. The defense rests.
Wow. You mean, you expect people to put the stick BEHIND their order?? I always thought those were for me to put down before I started loading, after the person's order who is in front of me...?
Why would I put one behind me? What if no one is coming behind me?
And you think that if I don't put one behind me, I'm somehow offering to pay for your order?? That's all jacked up!!! Just put a stick down in front of your stuff, man, sheesh!!
Never had any idea people expected me to put a stick down behind me, or that they would get upset if I didnt!! GEEZ!!

I just saw that Sesame Street is moving to HBO.
This is another subtle way that the lower socio-economic class considered second-class citizens, if even that. They even mentioned that on the story I'm watching. They were so worried about getting called out for it, they decided to allow PBS to show their reruns.
(It's also why Discovery Channel is available on basic bottom tier cable packages and airs shows about car racing, while the smart programming moved to Discovery Science, or another channel on a higher-priced cable package.)

There are two sides to every coin.
They also get to increase their income, which is why they're there in the first place. It only makes sense to charge higher rates to the group who can/will pay for it.

Engineering crap to JUST barely do the job for a CALCULATED lifespan, under what they assume is AVERAGE stress; stress calculated in controlled environments.
Case in point: car doors. If you're gentle with your doors, you can make them last decades. If you have a lady and kids in your life, the doors are shot in a year or so. Rattling, trim shedding shadows of what they used to be. The the vents: louvers all askew, chrome trim levers missing....
This applies to much other than autos. Thanks engineers.
Oh and don't get me started on 3/8" bass tuners.....

Great rant, wrong blame - those constraints are usually place by managers and business types, not engineers.
Wait. you're correct. Engineers need to boycott working for companies. That'll fix em.
Yeah, little plastic mechanisms pee me off. EG. Battery boxes that tabs break off of on expensive items like guitars.

Except that employment prospects for engineers are still pretty good. I've always felt that we vote by where we work and I have left one or two jobs when corporate pulls some BS - like making everyone compete for their own job. I supposed that's what they wanted was for some people to leave but I found better jobs along the way so I didn't care - better job and away from the BS.
I'm in management now so I suppose I've sold out to THE MAN.

Out of context, chief. Engineers are in demand and have choices. My condolensces to those who don't.
Even people who aren't engineers have some pretty good choices, like computer scientists.
However, there are plenty of people who are still fighting their way through a job and studying to get that Engineering or Science degree.
Then there are the Artists who are trying to make it, which includes musicians. So basically, you're talking to the wrong crowd.

I've watched the programming that airs on Comedy Central at night for years, and I've noticed a trend lately that bugs me a lot.
If you tell a joke and a pause is needed afterward to let laughter subside so your next line can be heard, that's completely understandable. If you tell a joke and you have to wait for laughter to trickle in, the joke ain't funny. Move on. It happens constantly on both The Daily Show and The Nightly Show; a joke is told, and the teller looks around waiting for any sign of laughter. Maybe the guy who lights up the applause sign is a little slow. Can't they (meaning everyone involved with putting shows on the air) see that something is wrong?

People that not only say "your wrong" but add "on so many levels". As if they have a deep insight into how many levels of wrong there on one issue.
