A thread for with which to vent.

Keeping the thread alive.

hey you with the run on sentences and no puctuation to separate your thoughts not necessarily in OT but everywhere else here I use avatars to easily recognize dummies or smarties yes I know people see my avatar and pass my post because I'm an idiot and now you use a dumbphone so your posts are now passed by me because even in the rare instance that you say something worth knowing I don't care to decipher what you wrote.

its too bad because you are obviously educated based on previous posts but your phone makes you look like a caveman is posting for you.

apologies to offended cavemen.

HA! The avatars make it so easy to skip the posters who cannot remember how to use periods or commas.

Sidewalks are called sideWALKS for a reason. Your parked car is not supposed to be partially on your driveway and partially on the street, straddling the sidewalk. The fact the you have a garage full of junk and a bunch of vehicles outside is YOUR issue. Don't make it everyone else's.

I've always felt it should be "vacume"

You know, like legume, volume, perfume, etc.

But I'm not in charge of such things!

It's pronounced vac...you...um, like 'continuum' (e.g. the title of the third track on side one of Jocko's eponymous debut)

You wouldn't pronounce continuum... 'continyume'... would you ?

( heck...maybe you would...I don't know)

Heck...while we're at it, people who say 'UM' all the time. Can't you get through a sentence without saying 'UM' six or seven times ? It is perfectly OK to fill a pause in conversation with good old silence....

Also...Young guys wearing sideways duckbill caps, who have their jeans hanging down below there buttocks revealing their underwear. Is this supposed to be mean something in some OTHER parallel universe, because in this one it means "look at me, I'm a moron who can't dress himself properly"

Just replace "um" with "like" and you'll be fine.

People who believe in neither their mirrors nor their turn signals. (Though at least they give me an excuse to practice my middle finger stretching exercises.)

Id almost prefer someone using no turn signal, to the fools who turn them on mid lane change.
If you werent aware, turn signals are to alert other drivers of your intention, not what you are currently doing.

A hundred million years ago I noticed that horse trailers often stop or turn without the tail lights warning other drivers, so I always gave them lotsa room.

20 years ago on a road trip my wife was driving and a junky old horse trailer happened to be ahead of us. I warned her of my prejudice about horse trailers, told her to watch out and not drive too close, and I zonked out in the passenger seat for a nap.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz....WHA!?!? I was snapped awake by sudden deceleration, the seatbelt seemingly tightening as my chest pushed into it, and the sound of my wife gasping in surprise. Sho 'nuff, she drove too close, and the horse trailer stopped without brake lights.

Two days ago we bought a horse trailer. It has a six pin connector with an adapter to seven pin. I hooked it up and only the running lights and one brake light worked. When I tried to pull it the electric brakes locked and I scrubbed two 3-foot tracks in his lawn. The owner told my it was because Dodge pickups are wired wrong (whatta sack of baloney!) and it worked fine with his Chevrolet. I So he offers to deliver the trailer. He hooks up to his rig and nothing works at all ! No lights ! Then he goes to unhitch and they turn on... sorta, running lights and one brake light. So he doesn't unhitch and we go for the delivery (the electric brakes are now free) with me driving behind in my truck behind him, hopefully keeping other drivers from being surprised. During the trip the lights flicker off a few times.

The next morning I get to work on making it all work properly. I discover that the trailer ground wire is attached to the pin for right turn. The trailer was getting its ground coincidentally through the hitch - that is why it failed at first and flickered on the trip. I also discover that the socket for the right tail light is cracked and the bulb will not seat against the contacts properly, so the brake/turn never worked. I dunno how the running light worked. The amount of dirt and corrosion packed in it indicates it has been this way for years.

Then I find the wire for the trailer brakes is attached to the pin for aux 12v / trailer battery charging. Any truck wired for this function would activate the brakes... And since his truck was not wired for this It didn't lock them up... And since they weren't wired to the correct pin the never worked at all.

The color code at the connector was not standard, and it changed colors inside the trailer. I had to pull all the bulbs, and use a ohm meter to check the wiring. I couldn't just look at wire color as the blue wire (blue should be electric brakes) turned black at the tail light.

So I got it sorted out. Turn signals, tail lights, brake lights, and trailer brakes all work wired in standard mode to a 7pin mate to my factory Dodge towing package wiring.

But what the hey... This guy had the trailer for years and the lights never worked right . What is the deal with horse trailer owners? Do the just hook up and go without ever checking their lights? Or they just don't care? And why the botched wiring?

Watch out for horse t. Trailers! The tail lights often don't work!

Ugh. Look-Signal-Turn. It's not that hard. Some people don't seem to grasp that one doesn't Turn-Signal-Look. Why signal if I can already see that you're about to slam into me? Does the blinky light somehow negate your enormous vehicle suddenly hurling across the road?

Exactly. If I see someone with their signal on trying to get over Im going to make room and let them in.
If someone just starts merging into my lane Im going to honk and shake my fist at them.

Here's one the winds me up. People who own these tiny little dogs (that I call kick digs) and let let them poop on the sidewalk here and they never pick up after them. GGGGRRRRRRRRR

Apologies to anyone with a 'kick' dog, but I am in agreement with this. I know most folks take care of their pets, but some people get a pet then ignore it, or don't take proper care of it because it's too much work.

I don't mind pets (I have a cat) but those annoying, barking little dogs that people can't/won't control get to me. Some folks control them or develop a friendly demeanor in them by loving and caring, but those that are annoying seem to find me.

You said kick dogs, sometimes I would like nothing better than to tee those mofo's up and go for three!

I feel better now.

BTW, I would never actually kick any animal on purpose, but I'll admit I've wanted to on occasion.
