oh. sorry.

so: because you're broke: this thread is cheap entertainment? as i said before: i support you 100%! still, i'm going to have my first.. and by the grace of god, it won't be my last. this one's for you wraub

FYI, and not particulary apropos, but whatever...-

Your moniker reminds me of my time working in a bike shop, where "JRA" meant "just riding along..."

As in, "Honestly, I was just riding along when my headtube spontaneously erupted from the frame, right where the downtube cracked... Weird, right? Please honor my warranty..."

that's funny! and i think i am just riding along at this point in my own experience: way old, way interested (still!), and way without a warranty. ha!
when you get some money, take a tour of all the MIM beers. (corona, of course, but: tecate, modelo, dos equis, sol, pacifico, carta blanca, bohemia, montejo, yada yada. i love these guys)

they're good enough, IMO, even if you're JRA! taste wise: somewhere between 'chunky' and 'springy' ----

P-Basses sound like a double chocolate, double-thick milkshake that hurts your cheeks when you try to suck it through a straw, but you keep doing it anyway because it's so good.

J-Basses sound like warm butterscotch Shake-a-Puddin that sticks to the spoon even when you turn it upside-down and then it slides down your throat with a flavor and texture you never want to end.

Rics are like the best amaretto cannoli you've ever eaten, or will ever eat.

In some ways I actually think some of these terms are the best you can do in trying to "describe" a tone. It's guitar instead of bass but a couple come to mind. I find Eric Johnson to have a "creamy" tone especially on cliffs of Dover. David Gilmour has a tone that I feel is kind of liquid especially on solos like comfortably numb.
