Abe played and toured with Al for most of the 80's. I remember seeing them 4 or 5 times out at Pine Knob and Great Woods...Abe was always there holding down the groove.
ahh! abe was my first bass influence... He truly is amazing, and has an amazing attitude.
In his basses, He's one of Yamaha's endorsers, he usually plays TRB's, and he plays Valley arts customs, and now he endorses Tyler Basses (www.tylerguitars.com). He played with over 3000 artist throughout his career, and still playing and giggin.
He has a trio calles 3prime. (Link Removed).
Anyways he will be in a conference talking about bass and stuff on November in Redmond WA. its called
Christian Musician's Summit, He'll be there with his friends such as paul jackson jr., alex acuna (Played drums with jaco on weather report) and sheila E. and etc etc...

Ok, so it just wasn't me. I'm fairly sure that was Abe!
I love that groove! I was playing it one day and it cracked my wife up big time! That was the first groove I played when my wife brought home my new Jazz Deluxe.
I had asked about this right around the time the DVD came out and someone even said the composer of the score knew his wife or something. He said he would check back and let us know. Haven't heard anything yet, but I'm almost positive that's Abe.
He seems like a great person and can really play!

Man, I was blown checking out Abe's playing on Andy Summer's Earth+Sky; with Vinnie Colaiuta, it's the best cd as an example of selfless, egoless playing; almost transcendental grooves!
He really nailed me with that cd!! I hope everyone here can check it out and let me know what they thought.

How much of the rest of Summers' Jazz stuff have you heard? Some of the other musicians he's worked with over the years include Peter Erskine, Sting (just a few songs - both on vocals and on stand-up bass), Dave Carpenter, Tony Levin, Gregg Bissonette, Ginger Baker, Jerry Watts, Chad Wackerman, Doug Lunn, Herbie Hancock, David Hentschel, and others. He did some stuff with the vibes player gary burton that I have on tape. Brownout is well simply crazy. Its fast . sloppy and mad but its a unique voice.
I saw Abe Sr. last month at the Christian Musician's Sumitt. Awesome player, but more importantly awesome guy. What he had to say in his clinic was equally if not more inspiring as his playing. He has a beautiful heart and love for God and people.
That does look like Abraham in the Incredibles DVD, and man oh man is he grooving in the first "making of" clip!

Absolutely no lightweights; i've checked out whatever was available and for the longest time, i was hooked onto 'The Last Dance of Mr.X' and 'Retrospective'; i've loved all his work with the Police and the material he's done with other guitar players; great stuff. I have the greatest respect for his playing and it wouldn't be odd for me to like his work over many other 'jazz' guitarists. Cheers, Philbiker.

Ron Kenoly's "Lift Him Up" video was my first introduction to Abe and his TRB5P (blue IIRC) on "Ancient of Days".
That song is getting really old, but it's still one of my faves.
I remember watching in wonderment as he soloed on that song. I hadn't really seen anything like it at the time.
