Accidental Ray35!!!

The local store will be dealing Sterling by MM as of NAMM so they should have some in stock shortly. I hear they are pretty nice. I'm really going to try to stick with my BB605 though. :help::hyper::hiding:

My experimenting may be with a Pod X3 Live and some kind of powered wedge.

Throw a brown tort guard on there and be happy. I think that would look good.

I'm kind of an anti-tort proponent. The high penetration of tort in the bass world has to be impacting something somewhere in a negative way that can be linked to global warming, birth defects or invasions of swarms of locusts in remote regions... Resist tort... think of the bigger world picture. ;)

I'll probably leave the pickguard black, or eventually go mirror or something. However, I have read that the pickup in these are some newer different shape or ears or something and a stock SR5 pickguard may not work. Not verified yet... just read somewhere.

I was thinking the brown tort like this:

Hope the owner Kobass doesn't mind the use of his picture.:ninja: I don't care for red tort myself, but that brown with rosewood looks great. If it's not your thing, then it's not your thing.

I know WD Music has a nice brown tort and would probably just need your old guard to make a template if they are different than the SR5's.

If you ever got two bass guitars, this might be the time. Your BB605 and a Ray35 together will be less than half the price of a used Metro.;)

Yeah, I am really going to try and stay away from anything over $750ish. I'm guessing I could get a good deal from my usual store as well. We'll see as NAMM stuff rolls in - Ray's, MIA Fender Jazz V, etc.

There's also a really nice and cheap G&L Tribute 2500 in the TB Classifieds that would be a nice 2nd bass.

Got mine... tore it down to do a slight fret leveling and decided to shield it at the same time (though it was noise free and didn't need shielding).

Took out the MM pickup and found this inspection sticker... could this be interpreted as "Cort Built"?

The bass is fantastic, and I feel well worth the money, and I have no problem with Cort built at all. Just curious that EB would potentially allow an inspection sticker that says Cort on it which some people could perceive to be a low quality product build.

That only makes sense that it is Cort built. Cort makes G&L Tributes and Lakland Skylines too. For that matter, mid price and up, basses with Cort headstocks are great too!:bassist:

Aha! I had a feeling they were Cort make,

Quick question, how are the neck's finished?
