This is a great example of a limited number of woods/colors just all fitting together beautifully! I love how the shade of the ash heelcap and headstock backplate match the body and are a subtly different shade of 'light wood" than the maple in the neck.

The Blondie is also a fabulous looking bass, but I really love my redhead ACG Finn.

The Redhead is indeed a stunner one of my favourites - there is a short write up and a build history background with a few more pics elswhere if people are interested.

Alan did a superb job for me and I think his work is exceptional in many ways - so much of our impressions are based on our personal views and preferences, but having owned a Wal, and still owning Pangborn and a couple of Shukers as well as scratch building 2 basses of my own I feel qualified to say Alan's work is up there with the best.

Hipshot TYpe A 7 mm spacing. Hipshot Ultralites and Schaller strapocks.
Custom made short scale strings.

The Tefano is an interesting bass, for sure--hopefully we'll get some feedback from the new owner about the sound and playability...

That Recurve turned out every bit as gorgeous as I expected--the lava bubinga fretboard is subtle but makes a really nice complement to the redwood top and back. Bravo!

Much as I would like to take credit for the selections it is the customers that have the good taste I just present the options they make the choices. It does however help that Larry supplies me with such excellent woods to start with.

Alan, you've got some truly inspiring basses here and each one I look at only makes me want to build even more.

I really enjoy the details you put into your work, its as if every piece of wood has a compliment somewhere else on the bass and it really ties the whole thing together.

Thank you for posting all of these, I cant wait to see more and hopefully soon enough I'll be posting my finished basses in the forum as well, lets hope they can hold a candle to yours!

Once again amazing work here, gotta keep wiping drool off my keyboard.
