+1 on that.

In fact, given the lighting for the photos that lacewood actually looks a bit like leather to me - in a good way!

With top and body woods I really like either a really strong contrast or when the woods just seem to meld perfectly. My upcoming Skelf will be the former (Redwood top on a sycamore body) but yours is a perfect example of the latter. The lacewood really matches with that walnut.

Organic is a great way to describe it. I've always felt that the Skelf has a wonderful natural shape. My usual instinct is for outrageous figuring....the Missus (who's an architect) suggested a simpler look for this instrument.

Im most fascinated by the pairing of the piezo with the ACG preamp. Will post ASAP.

Swamp Ash body with 4 mm Wenge accent. Flame Sycamore top with blue/green stain. Full gloss finish.

Flame Maple with black veneer stringers and a heartwood Birdseye Maple acrylic impregnated board. Red Sims LED's.
ABM tuning unit and ACG custom headpiece.
ACG FB pickups and a custom East U-Retro pre-amp 18 volt.

The first Recurve 6 and the first set neck in one of my double cut designs.

Wenge top with a Black Limba body.
7 piece Wenge/maple/Black Limba neck with an Acrylic Impregnate Quilt Maple board with black fret lines.

Matching Quilt Maple pickup covers with FB pickups in them. ACG EQ01 pre-amp.
Satin finish.

I really dig that Recurve 6. I actually think the doublecut Recurve shape works even better for 5 or 6 strings than it does for 4. But it's the wood choices that really set that one off. The fingerboard and pickup covers work well against that wenge top and the neck woods are a great complimennt to both the body and topwood.

And anyone who gets an ACG with a quilted maple fingerboard is alright in my books! ;)

Very happy owner chiming in. Got the Recurve 6 yesterday and, due to work, have only been able to put in about two hours so far. Looking forward to spending some quality time with the bass this weekend.

As anyone can see for themselves Alan did an incredible job with this one. It feels and plays as good as it looks. Balance, neck, setup, all perfect.

Haven't taken the bass to rehearsal yet but so far I have found great dub/reggae, rock, funk and jazz sounds. The filter preamp gives a whole different meaning to versatility.

More to come as I gather some experience.
