And I completely agree that black would be a better background. Alas, I only had a spare duvet to hand, so white it was. One day I'll get some black cloth and a spare hour to take some decent shots of all my basses.![]()

The above makes it all seem so easy even to the point I could do it. Then I remember I have no idea what you are talking about.
Olympus E-520 (I've got small hands!). Those were shot with the 14-42mm kit lens, with FL-36 flash sitting in the hot shoe. Spare duvet on the living room floor, swivel the flash round to bounce off the ceiling, set to f8.0 at 1/160s and shoot, shoot, shoot!
Quick fiddle in Lightroom to get everything looking even (and crop out the kids' toys creeping into shot) and there you have it.
