silly question, but just to clarify, what do you mean by cant get away from the horn? as in, you love it? or you really want to get away from it?

There are no silly questions...it's easy to mis-interpret print.
I couldn't get away from it, as in 'back off please'. It was too much.
Interesting note: If I boosted the extreme highs like 12k and above, I actually got more response to that boost of 'air' from the straight Acmes than the Meyer/Acmes. It's almost as if they 'wrote off' part of the high end that perhaps wouldn't make it to the audience anyway, in favor of a strong controlled projection at (relatively lower freq's) ...Analogy only, here, for perceived sound, who knows....
Anyway, it crosses at 1250 and IMO overlays everything above that point with a bit of a plasticy horn snark (actually snark is too good a word for it...let's just say annoying at near field). This ultimately removes some midrange textures but really punches/cuts through. I prefer the textures. The horn was too overbearing for me.
