Is "used" a brand? A best-buy would be something like a Crown XLS 1500 or higher...I run a stack of 'em in the PA and have used both the 1500 and 2500 with (2) Acme B2's. My rack now has a PLX 1602 which came from lord-knows-where. You can run one enclosure per side or daisy-chain (creates a 4 ohm load) and run the power amp in bridged mono.

300 watts per side @ 8 ohm...or go bridged mono at ~1500 watts (4 ohm)! I'd hold out for a 2500. They've been discontinued and replaced with the "xx02" series.

I'm going to try the separate pre and power amp setup. Right now I only have one 8 ohm Low B-2 but I'll likely add a second in the future. Any recommendations for a good value power amp that could power the one for now but also be more than sufficient for powering a second cab in the future? I'd prefer something relatively light, and that doesn't have too much fan noise.

Warwick LWA1000, used of course.

Covid19 update: I'm in Virginia Beach, the rig is in Hampton which is a good 45" drive. Tim re-sealed the rehearsal space (garage) floor and procured a furniture dolly. No get-togethers for another two weeks but I least got a peek:

That's a cast-off QSC RMX 1450 perched on top. Come to think of it, we've got additional lead-sleds we snagged when a local movie house closed down.

The Full Range 12 on top of the Flat Wound 12 is all anybody would ever need, with a good 600w to 800w head.

Do you get enough highs and mids with that cab combo? There's a place locally that has a used B-2W and I've thought about running that with my B-2 but I'm worried the combination won't be able to deliver enough mids and high end.

Of all the reviews I've read about them, plenty of detail in the mids. Full spectrum actually.

I'm sorry is the B-2W a replacement speaker? I did a search and nothing. I only read full cab reviews but it makes sense there's some good mids with it, I would think.... Just not sure though.

Looks like the Music Go Round in Elk Grove, CA has a Series 1 B4 for $300. Can't tell if it's a 4 ohm or 8 ohm cabinet.

The B-2W is the B-2 without the mid or high driver. It's supposedly meant as a sub from what I've read. Isn't that what you have under your B-2 in the picture above?

Yes it is but, in retrospect, I wish it were a full-blown 3-way B2 for a better tonal balance. Essentially, the config is a modular B4 but to my ears the singular high and mid drivers have trouble keeping up. Since I use one cab per amp channel, I attenuate the B2W to some degree which greatly improves the overall response. I can also daisy-chain both enclosures for a 4 ohm load and run the QSC in bridged mono (1400 watts)...I can but I don't.

Ah, the combination works but you have to roll-off the lower "subwoofer" and re-introduce slowly 'til you hit the sweet spot. Granted, it's a work-around but effective nonetheless. The "W" would have to be a real steal, otherwise I'd pass.

I'm sure it's a great speaker but it's not the speaker that cab was designed for.

The cab is nothing without Andy Lewis's specified drivers in it. His prices for the proper replacements are not that bad!

I would have offered them something just for the enclosure. Problem is the seller probably thought he had something great with the Deltas onboard. Stuff like this breaks my heart.
