Acoustic is BACK!!!!

Hi, played the B200H head and the 410 & 115 cabs today @ guitar center, the head sound very loud and clear, you have to work with the EQ to find your sound, I played both cabs together then seperate, I loved the 115 by itself great bottom end and overall sound!!! The 410 sounded very clear and loud, louder than the 115 but brighter, I couldnt get the deep bass sound out of it that the 115 had but it sounded full and LOUD!! No distortion came from either cab, both cabs are sealed, no ports, very well made and are a perfect match for the head, I used a American Standard Precision. Im sold on getting the 115 & head, ill probaly get 2 - 115 cabs, ill get the 410 later on down the line. LATER ON DEEPENDERS..............

I wish I still had my old Acoustic 1x18 folded horn cab with the cerwyn vega speaker.

+1

Me, too! I miss my 301 1x18 cab (the unpowered version of the 360 folded horn). It loved it when driven by the Marshall Major 200 watt tube head I had at the time.

I sold it all for $475 in 1976 due to extreme (student) poverty! :crying: :crying: :crying:

Of course, I was strong enough as a 26 year old to think nothing of schlepping that huge thing (one step at a time) up to the 3rd floor of my Providence, RI apartment at 3:30 am after a country gig at a distant strip club...

The cabinet fit (laying on it's side) in the back seat of my 1971 Dodge Coronet (V-8, 14 mpg), but was easy to move by myself because of the built in wheels and handles. I could even get my upright in the car at the same time!

Still, despite the nostagia, I hope they reissue it soon, and that I can afford one. They sounded great and were loud loud loud!

Yeah, I miss that big thing! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Wow, I have 2, 2x12 cabs made by acoustic and I can't find any info on it, not even this site, I found them in the dump a few weeks ago. Each has 2 tweeters and a horn...I think. Both had nameless speakers in it, but one of the cabs actually had a Rockford Fosgate in it. There was a metallic plate on the back with a serial number on it, but it looked like someone scratched out the numbers on purpose.

I don't see the model on the site. Does anyone have any information on it, like how much it costs? Is it worth investing in a head for it? It didn't have a head, and if it did, it's not here. Here's a pic of them stacked on top of each other, don't mind the mess...

I think I'll take better pics later on tonight.

If you don't get an answer here you should post this at the Acoustic forum.

These are PA cabs. Check out the link below for a nice sampling of the old Acoustic Control setups. I don't see your cabs, but they go with the PA head that's seen if you scroll down about 1/4 of the way.

As I recall, their technology didn't work as well for guitar and PA as it did for bass.

Looks like quite a lineup. Will they make a 360/370 reissue? What is the country of manufacture?

As has been noted before there is a US based company that involves some of the original designers of Acoustic amps that plans to offer the 360. I don't think that they are available yet and its been a long time in the making. You might check out the Acoustic forums for additional information, details, etc.

Thanks Mike. The million dollar questions are

1. When these are going to be available?

2. What improvements are going to be made?

3. Will the improvements change the sound we grew to love when the originals ruled the rock world?

4. How much are they going to sell for?

It seems to me that these have been 'on the verge' of release now for like 3 yrs.

Pedro - distribution and price are still 'in the works'. Progress is being made almost daily on all aspects of the company such as distribution and price as well as several new models to follow the flagship 360/361. Prototype testing went great with most of the wide range of testers placing an order! The 360/361 and other models are being setup for the first production run. Best guess is the line will launch before the end of this year. The US team doesn't want to compromise - so delays were inevitable.

Are these to be sold thru the GC (see previous posters comments about GC owning exclusive rights to the name)?

Anyhoo, looking forward to it but it seems like a very, very long time in the works. I spoke w/ Vetchking going on 3 yrs now and they were to be available in just a couple of months.
