Acoustic USA 360 / 361

I tried to click on that link and my AVG security went nuts on it as did my WOT site rating system.

As far as WHOIS is concerned, the site (acoustic.homeunix.net) has received it's parent domain rating
and states that it is a very poor security risk.

WHOIS rates the site dangerous, bad privacy settings and dangerous to users
AVG rates it as generally dangerous
WOT rates it as dangerous, extremely bad vendor reliability and dangerous to children.

HERE'S a link to the WOT rating

Now what?

Not sure why those ratings appear for the site. I've been a member for several years and visit it a couple of times a day with no issues. BTW - I have AVG as well as the standard Road Runner stuff and the site always shows up "good." I also have a photo album there under my profile.

Why dont you just get an Official Website.. instead of clicking on this or that link in an UN official blog that some fan made?
Its hogwash, and very unprofessional. and just alot of basically spam if you ask me.
Seems like no one is in control there.GEezz my kid brother has a website. And a company like you proclaim to work with does not.. It does not make any sense.

Vetchking Here:

You guys are needlessly tough.

A guy posted on this thread the picture. #32.

Here's the link to the unofficial acoustic site.

If it doesn't work google it.

Click on Forum.

"svtb15" - are you chewing on me?
The Acoustic company ignores any e-mails, so I thought trying another angle might work - and my
posting that was just a warning for those of you who use McAfee.

I even created a couple of new email accounts, and sent questions to the hyper-linked address on
"Acoustic Amplification" and got the same negative results. Nada.

So Vetchking MAY be representative of the Generation-II Acoustic company too. They both have the
same attitude, although the AA company itself does it by totally ignoring people - no, make that
'CUSTOMERS' who ask questions.

I can't get anywhere with the Official Acoustic Company any more than people are getting answers here
from Vetchking.

It seems that the inmates are running either/both companies, and I don't even know for sure which
company is what and which is responsible for the bad service and PR.

Maybe they both have the same mailing address and are shilling for each other under a common, yet
confusing and a visually/verbally similar banner.

This one?

...

If not, I'm not sure which picture you're talking about, I haven't seen another picture of side to side Acoustic line up in this thread. If it is this one you're talking about, then these are all vintage Acoustics, not current prototype/production ones.

On a side note, where did you find those links with Acoustic and Josie and the Pussy Cats? What's that all about?

No - that's not the picture.
Buster Brown had a picture of the "New" line not the old ones in the "They're here thread"
The picture is gone. I don't know where it went, either got pulled because the obvious photoshop make up, or some legal reason. (I can bet GC didn't like it)

I was going through the wayback to see if the picture still existed there. Talkbass doesn't allow the wayback to archive it. So I went to an old Acoustic site I found there. This brand has been tried and tried to be re-introduced. Even Josie (whoever she is) couldn't pull it out of the dumpster.
GC is actually doing very good with the line. So people who like the look should be happy with GC line.

The last picture posted by Mr Brown has mysteriously disappeared
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8160872&postcount=1

There were clear signs of photoshop, or one incredible wide angle lens, and flash to remove all shadows at all angles.

Damn I hate to do this...it was such a nice weekend...

yes, the pics are gone (taken down). They were taken down at the request of George some 6-8 weeks ago. I still have them, along with price lists, etc etc. They were not photoshopped (unless it was done without my knowledge). They are the actual product catalogs of the Acoustic USA line. Included were the price lists, etc etc as of September 09 and sent to me, as a prospective endorsee. I am no longer a perspective endorsee of Acoustic USA. I simply cannot wait forever for the amps to come to market.

As far as "...clear signs of photoshop"..if that is the case (and apparently Nancy Drew has it figured out) then it was George (and Acoustic USA) that is responsible, I merely posted the pics.

Do I personally believe that Acoustic USA is a scam? Hell no, I do not. However, that being said, can I prove it? no. I have never seen one of the amps in person, nor have I played one.
I have, however, talked with several guys who claim to have played them and speak in glowing terms of the equipment.

Does that mean the equipment actually exist? I guess not. It could always be a Watergate (hopefully you geniuses remember that) style conspiracy designed to make everyone in the bass playing world talk about an amp that doesn't exist, thereby taking everyone's mind off our current economic circumstances and geopolitical calamities that most certainly await us.....:scowl:

George could certainly put an end (and he should) to this nonsense by bringing this product to market. I agree, like everyone else, that he is hurting himself AND Acoustic USA by these seemingly neverending delays. However, there is nothing I can do about it. I would love to see George post pics of he entire line. I will not, out of defference to the man's wishes.

Mallard and George,

Keep keepin' it Real.

Those Nay Sayers have their place in this world too. Yin & Yang, perhaps.

Talk Bass,

Thanks for letting all "talk bass" here.

I will be standing in line WHEN the new acoustic USA's roll out. I plan to be # 72. We'll see.

Looking forward the the soon to release "acoustic" write up in Bass Gear Mag.

This is not a paid endorsement in any way!

Play On!:bassist:

If one wanted to get in the market place, why not get the speaker cabinets out to retailers, speaker cabinets do NOT need a UL Listing ..there is a small market for those folded horn cabinets ...heck .... it's really easy to to set-up an online store ... but with all this hype and evasive crap .... it's really not real .... IMHO

Well my bad ... too much stuff in this thread ...heck just market the cabs with out the power amps in it ... it would be nice to have a well built American made, folded horn cabinet for the younger players with good backs to experience the load in's and load out's and the flight of stairs that occasionally get in the way

Vetchking Here:

Once again trying to clear up misconceptions.

Ok, to all the nay sayers. No pictures, no amps. UGH.

My post at #196. Shows where the picture posted by Mallard post #32 comes from.

Do what I tell you. ( there's your professional information update ) click on the link. There's 4 posts. It explains the picture...it's all real. ( That is a Picture of the new equipment )

Seamonkey's post #200

The picture your looking for is an actual computer drawn picture of almost our entire new line.

Buster Brown did indeed post it. I had him remove it.

As strange as it might seem our team is computer literate and can post pictures at any time we choose.

Go ahead and click on the Unofficial Acoustic Site. It's fine.

Also, on this thread. I posted my phone number and Personal E-mail.

Please quit telling people we don't get back to you or return your E-mails.

I allready posted to correct this once.

You are apparently trying to contact www.acousticamplification.com

That is not the New "acoustic" USA Co.

--------------------------------------------------------

I just turned 57 this week. As far as you guys that are in your mid 50's, ( and there are many.)

I won't appologize that your tired of hearing about the new 360/361.

But, I am sorry you have to keep hearing about Russ, and the new company. But, keep in mind gentlemen. There are new bees everyday on all these sites and others.

I also post keeping in mind the young 16, 19, 35, year olds.

---------------------------------------------------
The links Seamonkey gave were Samick USA's New Acoustic Line. approximate years 2002 to 2006. They never shipped the units in the picture. Closed the division.

Their 360 had the power in the head.

The New "acoustic" 360 is a Pre-amp. No Power. The 361 cab is powered as is the 361M (mini) folded 15" neo. The Pre-amp runs 4 powered cabs as the original.

My favorite posts here are Post #1 by mallard.

and

Post #180 by I should be King. according to his bio he's
29 years old.

He apparently reads, then posts.

He should contact me. LOL. He'll enjoy the call.

Hope that all helps................ Later

I'm just a mildly interested observer here , adding my probably unwelcome 2 cents and unsolicited advice.

Vetchking, you sound like a cool guy and I have a lot of respect for anyone who dedicates themselves to a business project born of love, as this seems to be.

But I would seriously recommend you stop posting telegraphic and unconsidered 'updates' and explanations when they only confuse the issues more.

I consider my reading comprehension to be at least average but I find your posts confusing and unhelpful (though entertaining).

Please take a few minutes and work out a communication strategy that will present your products professionally and in a manner that's reflective of their purported quality, and that relates more closely to their projected launch on the market. It's obvious you are creating huge needless problems for yourself and your company by your present style.

I wish you the best with this project in any case.

That new picture didn't last long.

I appreciate V's posting:
"The picture your looking for is an actual computer drawn picture of almost our entire new line."

Not that it is bad to computer generate a picture, many companies do it for gear long before gear is ready to ship. You have to grease the distributors and media, given them something. It's standard practice these days.

It's just that many people see a picture and think it's a real physical artifact. There are so many spoofs these days that it's hard to know what real or not. You can't tell by a picture unless you really look for imperfections. Even then, this won't last long, they're getting good at adding imperfections now too - just like with audio modeling.

Someone should just take actual old Acoustic amps and create the software models for them. Somebody probably already is.

My Roland Bass Cube 30 has a model labelled "360"... no idea how authentic it is, as the only settings that sound consistently good are the "stage 810" and "bassman", and i learned quickly not to mess with what works, but at least others have the right idea.
