Somebody better tell AMPEG that the market for SVT's is dead.

Or maybe Traynors 200 watt amp, or Peaveys VB-2... geez, why do all us bassist keep buying these "big heavy amps" when the market is dead.

P.S. better read up on the micro amp threads bro... they ARE Class A/B. Being Class A/B doesn't MEAN that the amp will be HEAVY... No offense here, but i do believe you are associating the class operation with the weight of the amp.

well there's one i know of that's class ab...the lmiii and its 500w variants. all the rest i've seen are class d. still, you're right. class ab doesn't have to be big.

Relic designs. Can't introduce a "new relic" and expect it to sell. Unless it's really cheap.

Class-ab at 50% efficiency needs more cooling than class-d that are 90%+ efficient. It's either fans or heat sinks to get the cooling.

SMPS is also lighter and more efficient than big iron transformers. You can attach an SMPS to a class-ab but you still need to cool the class-ab

i really hate this site once the smug piggybacking of condescension starts to kick in whenever a manufacturer actually addresses folks, and a bunch of holier than thou internerds decides its their hallowed duty to tear him a new one.

this happened with the Frudua/Exlusive thread, the certainbass threads, and plenty of other times. i'm not defending any of those particular people or companies, but it's pretty exhausting to see all the gross bro-mance tag-team backslapping going on at some manufacturer's expense. and you know what? it always starts with someone who's not as versed in the ways of internet forums as all of the users here, and they miscommunicate and a million posters come along to throw some meaningless jabs in.

are you mad because you can't yet buy an amp that you probably won't buy down the road anyway? are you personally offended because someone told you a product was being released and then, god forbid, something happened and it still isn't released? don't you think that someone running a company with the ultimate goal of selling amps would prefer to be selling them rather than having to hear you whine and complain about the fact that they're not out? you all approach it like he's deliberating withholding amps that you're somehow entitled to have the right to buy. lunacy. and it depresses me to no end.

Make that two with you, note this is one big reason my very limited funds this year didn't go to being a supporting member again.
