Acts that should have been bigger in the U.S.

There were a few really obscure English groups from back in the day that might have made an impact if they had made it in the US, in fact might have even changed popular music as we know it but alas, they remain unknown to the rest of the world, sbut I highly recommend you look into a few titles by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and this really obscure band called Led Zeppelin.

Dave Wakeling lives in California now and you can go and see his version of the Beat even now. Ranking Roger keeps the flame alive in the UK with Everett Morton.
That's a shame. Early Stuffies would have been popular on college radio in about 1992 if it had made it there.

I've seen The English Beat many times here in Detroit. Dave Wakeling is a very nice person and befriends many fans on Facebook.
Robbie Williams - here is an act who has had an unbelievable number of hit songs across the globe and not even one U.S. hit record.
Kylie Minogue - An Australian act who has had numerous hit songs worldwide and only a few U.S. hits

Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. For some strange reason they always get confused with that other band from Toronto with the same last name.
It's a shame he doesn't get back together with Roger, etc. Although if Ranking Roger's version made it to the USA then you could see The Beat supported by... The Beat. The Ranking version bassist was very good the last couple of times I sae them (I assume it's the same one now).
I actually found and enjoyed Slade, Status Quo, Paul Weller and some of the others in record stores, but I had to order CD's by Radio Birdman on-line.
What holds them back is their own diversity. These guys are incredible, then they do a jig lol. Great band.
