I’ve read on here that boiling your strings can bring dead strings back to life. I don’t doubt it and I’m not poking any fun at the idea. If it works it works. But sorry, I can’t resist. How would they be if you add shrimp? When they are done can you throw them on the wall to see if they stick to make sure they are done? How would they do with spaghetti? I’m sure this is an old cheesy joke on my behalf, and please don’t take any offense to this. I personally have never tried this, but if it really works then it works. I’ve even read somewhere that strings were once made with catgut. I’m sure that’s not what you would assume it is.
I would try tossing them with ceviche instead of boiling. The citric acids will dissolve the finger gunk and make a nice emulsified sauce for the shrimp and fish.
