It may or may not be a bass preamp... And it may or may not be Ampeg based, it will also eventually have an effects loop and DI box capabilities.

I'm working on the PCB design and plan to order a few to prototype and experiment with DI circuits.

Love to see stuff like this Mike - great work.

I'm in the LED manufacturing biz and we have a full in-house SMT line, and I have many local contacts to have custom PCBs made. I wouldn't have time to help with onesie-twosie units, but if you have anything you need to do in batch quantities, let me know. We have one PCB house that does boards for us without needing proper Gerber files. We have to supply film layers and drilling info, but with your circuit diagrams this could probably be an easy jump to make, even panelizing a half-dozen designs onto a single panel, for example.

Reading further, seems you're using Eagle for proper designs... need less assistance than I thought after 2 pages, hah. Still - PM me if we can help in any way.

Thanks for the input! I do use Eagle and have been strongly considering switching over to KiCAD. Making proper Gerber files isn't an issue for me, and I use OSH park for prototype boards since I can just upload Eagle board files (and gerbers once I switch to KiCAD) and order them 3 at a time. Cheap and easy for a small run. However, I am working on getting to a point that I'd be doing a proper production run of boards (also, if anyone reading this wants to build their own pedals, but can't design your own boards, I'd be more than happy to assist in designing them) and will keep you in mind. Any chance I could get a business card, or brochure or something mailed to me? PM me and let me know!

I did it by designing it to be a 2 knob pedal, the third knob I changed to an internal trimpot and it was an incredibly right fit. More fuzzes have really simple circuits that don't require much room, which is why that Zvex box had 5 knobs. But overdrives are generally more complex and require more room, so designing a tight fitting PCB is a huge help in making everything fit. I did a Wooly Mammoth clone in the 1590A box last winter and it was a point to point board, it took 4 enclosures before I finally had everything fitting! These little boxes are such a pain to work with, but again, I'm putting much more time into designing PCBs to make fitting everything much easier. And yes, I use mini knobs, lol.

Curious, are you implying the Green Mile is a Barbershop Clone, or are you just using it as an example for the knobs?

I used the Green Mile as an example for the knobs. I honestly don't know anything about it other than it's in a small enclosure.

I did not mean to imply any relation between the Green Mile and Barbershop.

I'm not taking orders for them. However, I order PCBs in multiples of 3. So I have the parts to do another one. If you'd like, send me a PM and we'll talk about it.

Some news for you guys as well, I just finished up a 3 channel active instrument selector for a local friend (and the guy who designed my website) and it's pretty awesome!

If anyone needs an active channel selector like this (3 in, 1 out) I have the PCBs to do them and want to tryout some 8 bit artwork I've been working on. It will also work as a line buffer and kill switch.

Some more news! I'm going to be cutting back on orders I take. Thankfully, I've expanded beyond TB and have been working on some projects for local guys as well and I've become quite overwhelmed by the number of projects that I'm currently working on. I'm going to be starting a waiting list and if anyone is interested in a custom project at some point, please feel free to let me know!
