Adventures in starting a pedal company!

Hey I have a question, what is the best way to get one of the little metal flaps tight against the quarter inch once you plug it in in the input where you plug your bass into?? My ol' ampeg B50R is giving me a little cut out trouble and one of the input jacks metal flaps in there is up just a tad and I can't figure a way to get it back snug so it doesn't cut out on me. Suggestions please? Seems you'd know how to do this.

You'd probably have to open it up and then bend it back into place. Im not personally familiar with that amp.

So, I finished up the first of a couple Barbershop Overdrive mini clones that a few awesome dudes on TB ordered! I have to say, this is by far the best 1590A pedal I've done so far, I really spent a lot more time planning out the drilling and designing the PCB. I was also able to fit a power jack on the side and one that's bolted on the inside so it doesn't stick out a half inch from the pedal! Without any further ado...

I finished the last 2 mini barbershops today. They look and sound great! I'm also taking this chance to let you guys know that I'm taking a break from building for a while. I've got some stuff going on in my life that needs to take precedence.

And some teasers!

So Mike I'm guessing that's Drive on the left, but which ones Sag and which ones volume?

I also see that Fairfield have discontinued the Barbershop, but I assume it's to be replaced by something else.

Too exciting :hyper:

I believe that Fairfield is re-releasing the Barbershop in a 1590b format similar to the Unpleasant Surprise -- the Barbershop is simply TOO popular to discontinue! According to Guillaume's blog:
"The Barbershop Overdrive Mark II, code name “Millenium Edition” is in the works. We’re exploring the many opportunities this redesign allows us, and we’re open to ideas! If there’s something you’d like to see on the new Barbershop, or something you don’t want to see, let us know."


THANKS SO MUCH Mike for the update, I'll let you know if all is well and will post a review for future customers if you'd like (even though it seems like you would prefer to take some personal time).
I'll be praying for you that all works out!

After looking at the guts in person (you gave yourself a bit more wire), I can't help but wonder what a nightmare the first one of these must have been to assemble! Also, it was nice to see quality parts inside (Nichicon, Vishay). Can't wait to try it out! I'll let you know.

Been waiting to comment til I played with it for a bit.

Love the smooth subtle OD it supplies. You are right, you need to find the sweet spots. But I found mine.....On my board and staying on for a bit...

Nice work.... You should rethink taking a break, you have a real talent.

Try the following, from left to right.

2, 2, 11 (2 on Bottom), best low end retention and a nice subtle break up.
