I imagine that even the most well thought out method has no substitute for elbow grease.
It's a cab worth the effort, though.

Advice needed on how to remove carpet from a speaker cabinet

It's a cab worth the effort, though.
Was this the one on FB in Mass for $100? I was going to grab that if it as still around when I go to Boston nex weekend. Oh well! Good deal for you!
I've had good luck with placing my cabinets right next to the stage lighting until it catches fire. If the lights touch the rat fur thats even better. It smells awful though. I think I was opening for LA Guns in the late 90's and it actually happened. It was some pretty scary stuff. Not as bad as when we were in high school playing at our local youth center though. Our friends had made flash pots with coffee cans and light sockets. then they filed them with gun powder - flipped the switch - Poof. Well our last show our friends apparently wanted to use up all the gunpowder and must have spilled it on the drum riser. Start of the second set one spark and the whole riser caught on fire. The drummer to his credit (or stupidity - We were like 16) never lost the beat. The singers brother came out with a fire extinguisher and doused all our gear. Why? I don't know. He wasn't the smartest guy. Those were the days!

Sometimes it’s easier but sometimes it becomes an even bigger mess and more difficult. Depends on the adhesive.
Yous are all soft like butter. Just did 2 ev 215s in an hour. Scraper, Stanley knife, heat gun and supple woman hands
Even easier and faster, after pulling the carpet off, use a grinder and a fine wire brush cup to remove the glue and any leftover carpet. Don’t stay in one place too long and careful on the edges.

Like I said earlier, it depends very much on the adhesive that was used.
There was a glue that was marketed as a commercial carpet tile and glue-down adhesive that was so tough that it was usually cheaper to simply build a new cabinet. there is also adhesives that get really weak when they age, those are pretty simple to remove but there’s still plenty of prep work for the job to turn out looking nice.

Alternatively keep a can of black emulsion paint in the garage, and every time bare wood appears paint it black. It will look exactly the same to the public, and you'll save yourself huge amounts of quite horrible effort.
