Come on…we already had “improved cab support” down to 2.67ohm with v1 of the AH700/TH700, and for only $100 more why wouldn’t you opt for the 700 vs the 500?

Loved their DB lead sleds, but the drive circuit of the Tone Hammers was always too gritty for me, even at low settings. Much preferred EBS' drive circuits. And then they took off the control for it. With all due respect for their class ABs and their (still excellent, I hope) cabs, I'll pass.

I'm very happy with my AG700 and TH350. It doesn't look like they added any features I am interested in and the new graphics make them look "cheap" to me.

I wish they could put the tone controls in a left-right, low-high order. Or something less random. Mid-Bass-Treble is kind of confusing…LOL

All my gigs are now ampless, and the only regular gig I had in the last decade where I used an amp was a "coffee house" vibe thing, where a 200 watt amp (run into an 8 ohm 110 cabinet; the total available power was a bit over 100 watts) was still overkill. There are situations where you don't need lots of watts.

Yep, I thought the 500 should have been placed on the chopping block and the 350 kept along with the 700.

I don’t know man. Seems like a tough sell with what I see so far. $1000 for 500 watts and no gig bag. That price point has competition from everyone.

Never mind reissuing the original DB 680/728 pair…the first Aguilar product. I got to play one at a music festival and it was incredible. And incredibly heavy!

I have no basis in fact here but I'm just going to take stab here and suggest that there bassists than using one cab as opposed to multiple cabs. It seem like there a lot of 4 ohm cabs on the market rated at 500-600 watts. A 350 watt head might under shoot the mark, and where a 700 watt amp powering a 500-600 watt is not recommended. That might be the reason for the 500 watt cab.

That said, with the cabs I have the 700 is poor match.
