Aguilar DB412 vs SVT 810?

Hey ya'll,

I have a late 70's SVT 810 that just doesn't seem to do it for me.
I'm running a Fender 300 Pro through it and it just doesnt seem to have the girth that i want.

I was wondering if anyone has used the Aguilar DB412 and put some wattage into. I like what i read on the specs and they look beautiful. I'm just not wanting a fridge of 15s or really the 810 anymore. I think the DB412 will be a little lighter and possibly a slightly smaller footprint than the 810.

I ditched my 2001 Ampeg 810e for my Mesa PH412 and haven't looked back since. This cab is better in every way for me and I haven't had any issues with moving the cab due to the several handles on it. I'm running a Mesa 400 into my PH412 and this is the best rig I've owned to date. Here's an older picture of the cab side by side an 810:

The Aguilar 412's look killer though, and its gonna come down to personal preference.. Berg makes a killer 412 and so does GK (lightweight), but I'm sure set on my Mesa gear.

That's a great looking rig! I love Mesa but they seem hard to find in this area. I also would love to find the 412 ampeg cab but those seem rare..

Yeah, I had a 810e in the early 90's and did not like it very much and sold it fast for a pretty penny. It had an unclear tone but I was not using it with a regular SVT head. It probably would have sounded better with an SVT
head. I almost got a DB412 or GS412 but went another route. The build quality and materials of either one is excellent and the tone is great. I really liked my GS212 but sold it for a pair of GS210's which were also great. Your Fender 300 Pro puts out lots of power so either Aguilar cab should be a good match. Try before you buy.
