Aguilar, EBS or other

Hiya, my first post on here. I'm in the UK and its hard to find stockists to try any good bass gear out so will end up mail orderinf it.

Currently run and H and K basskick 707, 410 and 115 but am finding it too big and need to goto a one cab set up. The h and K is only 250 watt at 4 ohm and the cabs are 8 ohms each.

Considering an aguilar AG500 or SC with a DB212 or an EBS classic 450 with 212 classic cab.

Anyone had experience of these set ups or anything else they can recommend?

Would a 212 or 410 be best as a one cab option?

I play a P bass for a Foo Fighters tribute band and a dearmond starfire with flat wounds for an originals band.

Thanks for your help,
Dan

I may be a little biased here, but I'd go with the Aguilar setup. Before I got my DB750, I gigged 5 days a week for a couple of years with an AG500SC and two GS112's (which I still have). I played a lot of large rooms (many without PA support) and I never had a problem being heard over two guitarists and a ham-fisted drummer. Excellent tone aside, the power sections of Aguilar amps are brilliant - they never seem to sound strained when you push them hard and they are LOUD!

I really do like the EBS, but IMHO it doesn't have the warmth of the Aguilar, and without a doubt, can't touch it volume-wise.
