That was my idea running a Tonehammer and Subway DI pedal thru an IPR2.

I thought it was funny that the other day they repled to my email about my AG 700 with "Thanks for your email and using The Tone Hammer 700"...

I've had a TH 500 and currently have the AG 700. I liked the voicing better on the tone hammer. It takes the AG's deep switch to give it close to the thickness the TH has.

Neat. From looking at the front of it, doesn't look like they've added any extra features over the TH500...

The feature set is perfect just the way it is.

I'd love to sell my TH500, buy the TH700 and an additional SL112. But then I'd be divorced.....

Depending on your situation it could be worth it, though.

That is one way to do it, but I would think most people who want a super light "mini stack", don't really want to lug a 212 and an extra 112... I know I wouldn't, mainly because you can't really carry all of that easily without making 2 trips. I'd still rather have my current setup - 2 SL112s (1 in each hand) and a TH500 in a carry bag.

But... If Aguilar put out an SL115 and an SL210 that could handle the TH700, I'd be tempted with that setup over my 2 12s.

I currently have the SL212 and AG 700. It can handle the power just fine. I would rather have more power on tap than what a cab is rated for in Watts Continuous. Aguilar has a very Conservative Rating for these SL's. I have pushed them just as hard as a Mark Bass cab rated higher and didn't crap out. I usually keep volume half up and gain around 9 or 10 and it's super loud. I would rather have that than have my settings past 12 noon. Don't worry about running this head with a single SL 212 or two SL 112's.

Given I've never needed to push the TH500 to anywhere near its capability envelope, the TH700 is superfluous (for me).... but oh so desirable!

I wonder if they’re gonna come out with some new SL cabinets that can handle the extra power of the TH700? Right now, the SL410x is the only SL cab rated high enough at 500W (8ohm version) - even the 500/4ohm version of the SL410x wouldn’t be “safe” for the TH700. A 350-400W/8ohm SL115 or SL210 would be pretty sweet!

Oh yeah, my bad. It’s still the only cab that I would personally buy to run with the TH700 though. Despite the other SL cabs probably being fine to run the the AG700 or TH700 with under most circumstances, I wouldn’t personally spend that kind of money on a cab that isn’t rated as high as the amp. That’s just me. I prefer to match the power ratings, or if anything get a cab that’s rated higher than the amp I’m using.

No worries, the SL410x is a great cab. I have the 4 ohm version and it takes my D800+ with no trouble at all, it's ridiculously loud. I have pushed it to its limit once and will never do it again.
