Nice! If you don't mind me asking, what is the serial number on the middle one with the brass control plate? All the ones I've seen with that plate are VERY early build. For example, serial number 12 shows up a lot on the Alembic Club.

The thing that sets many Alembics apart from the other luxury basses is the angled neck(like a Les Paul). Does anybody else in the bass luthier world do this? I haven't seen one. I should also mention the less attainable Alembic's having a brass Sustain Block. Plus, they have the Wizard Man doing the electronics.
Another factor in my love for Alembic is the climate they are assembled in. Northern California is a better place for wood, than say..New York City.

Can someone help me to identify if this Epic is real or a copy?

It has no original pick ups anymore, but the price is so cheap (the guy needs money and asking U$850), that worth a replacement. The serial is on the electronics cavity and stands for a 93 bass: 93w8106.

I looked at some of the other photos and it looks like the bass is an Alembic but as you mention, the pickups have been replaced. Even with the low price, I would look for an unaltered Alembic. They are out there and I think you'd be happier in the long run.
