Alembic style basses look ugly to me...

who cares how it looks? A bass can't even sound good on it's own. you have to do it.
If we all had the same opionions, there would be one bass....what fun would that be?
personally i like ugly and worn looking basses. lots of character.

And for the record, I wear underpants made of bird's-eye maple/lacewood laminate w/ purpleheart stringers. Naturally, they have an omega-cutout.

Indeed. I dig that style a lot more than the "hornless" Alembic.
i found the omega cut chaffed real bad when i worked out, so i went back to the series I cut.
I don't know how anyone can complain about the looks of an Alembic. They'll make it look however you want.

They even had a model that looked like a Fender. Well, better looking than a Fender, but the J-shape was definitely there.

hey to ech his own, i for one do not like Benavente, but the shape is popular, i love funky wood like Burl, Koa, Swamp ash, blahblah, and iwould love to have an Alembic. Whatever you play is yours, and i know it is your opinion, but whatever. To each his own.
