Alembic style basses look ugly to me...

First, as Webtroll said, why did you feel the need to start a thread announcing your distaste for how Alembics look? It's pointless.

Second, as I distinctly recall, you previously said "the Precision bass seems too simple to me.":rollno:

I have an alembic five string Essense in quilted maple top. The only saving grace to this top is that it has a book match top with two quarter sized spots of Spalt on either side of the bridge( I hate quilt it belongs on a blanket in my opinion) . The bass is a five string and I won it on eBay at a crazy price . the nut was spaced incorrectly and the bridge was as well. after having it repaired and adding a Q switch it plays well.
I still like my flamed maple top four string in a cherry burst much better. All be told my Fender squire five string deluxe V is the bomb at the moment. It has a solid white finish over basswood.
