Alibaba Bass

They're gonna make me a 24 fret neck for it as well. Shark fins, white binding, and 24 frets...like they should've done when they messed up and cut the pocket for a 24 fret neck.

But, they're sending me my bass, like this, right now.

It is nice to see that after all the mess that happened that they have done you right in the end.

I just hope that all of the problems you have had getting it doesn't sour you on the bass when it arrives. I know when I had a major debacle ordering a custom bass, that after I got it I really wasn't super happy with it. Not because there were major problems with it (just a couple of minor items I was able to fix), but just because I had to fight to just get it to my door! I have had that bass for about 5 months or so now, and I am just now starting to play it because every time I pick it up, I remember how much of a headache it was just to get it and it makes me angry still.

Can't wait to see you put the finishing touches on yours!

That's a great point. But so, they will send it to you later in a second package ?
If that is the case, testimony of their seriousness on this point. They had forgotten to had the string retainer on my second neck. I told them, they immediately apologized and sent the retainer to me in another package (which actually arrived to my door today).

I said just to hold off, and send them together. It seems to me like there'd be no way to get it wrong, with the bass still there.

Well, it's been over a year now, but the I should be playing my bass in another month...finally.

New neck is ready for paint. They'll be done with it in a week or two, and she'll finally be on her way to me.

My God
Hope to see it with you soon. Has it really been over a year since you ordered? I looked back at @darkkimhari's thread and it doesn't look like he revealed the seller until last December. In any case, hopefully yours being done will mean they can finish mine faster. :D

Any update for you, dude? I'm probably gonna end up in a similar boat. I'm at 6 months and nothing started yet.
New neck should be done this week. They broke an inlay, and had to fix it. Two months later, it's now being fretted and finalized. So... I'm hoping for a nice Christmas present

Really hope they finally get their s*** together for you.

Have they just not responded to your messages at all? I've had some lag in response, but never outright ignored if I followed up a couple days later.

They respond, but it takes a while despite multiple follow ups. I'm slowly being more persistent.

Paid in june. Nothing until July when I was told that they had the wood but were waiting on plans. Finally got the plan in September when I was told that I would get an update a week after that.

Messaged them throughout October with no response, and they finally got back to me in November saying they'll have an update next week.
Nothing a week later, so I decided to just ask if I could change it from 2 pickups to 1. They said yes.
I haven't heard anything since 11/17. And I realize my asking for a change might have further delayed things, but the wood was apparently ready in July. Plans drawn up in September, and still no moves made by mid November when I asked for the change.

They got right on mine. But then there was their holiday season. But, regular follow ups after that. It seems that as soon as they started my new neck, they forgot about me. Then it's been kinda like pulling teeth for answers. But, I am eventually getting follow ups. But, three months for a single neck seems a little outrageous to me.

They started on it in August.
