All about that bass NO TREBLE

I'm all about those mids, a bit less treble, & even lesser bass on the amp. Usually with bass-n-treble near noon, with cut/boost available on my Spector to tweak as needed for a room.

I roll mine off to zero all the time.

If I want twang I'll buy a package and make some lemonade.

Treble down to 2 or 3, mids usually 7 or 8, bass 5 - 8 depending on my mood and the time of day. At 3 a.m. the bass can seem to travel miles and lead to unpleasantness with neighbors. These settings also vary with which bass is being used. Not really a fan of trebly clank, but you need enough definition to discern the notes. The controls on the instrument are there for a reason.

Long ago, I was in a band where we had this revelation; I rolled off almost all my treble, and the guitarists (100W Twin, Marshall), rolled off a lot of bass. We were a whole lot less deaf after that, and had more energy after prac for drinking tasty twang in space.

On my Fenders (Rumble 500v3, and SB 300) I generally have every thing set to 12:00, there are exceptions though.

Depends on the song, of course. Usually keep a mid-bump in the amp EQ. My basses have active EQ I can adjust bass and treble +/-12db. On some songs, I definitely boost the treble knob. I rarely roll it down below midpoint. I play 99% finger style and find the high frequencies help define the initial attack of the note. When I do use a pick, I roll the treble off a little bit so that it sounds about the same.

I usually cut the 50HZ down out all the way, some boost in the 60HZ range.
Mids set to sitting in the mix right to my ears.
Highs are flat to cut depending on the room.

I think it would behoove any musician who plays in as live setting to consider what his instrument sounds like in a group setting, with all the other instruments thrown into the mix and make adjustment based on what is good for the group, not just his individual perspective.

Even the highly revered James Jamerson *occasionally* had a bit of "bite" to his sound!! Anyways I cant stand that dull, muddy tone unless the song calls for it and I'll use the tone knob for this!

Some treble, but I mainly need to send bass waves through the audience so they can feel the rhythm while they listen to the guitars and singer.
