All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

OK - so since most have us have been working remotely over the past few months and using video conferencing, I've set up shop in a back bedroom that we primarily use for storage. Because I have containers full of stuff which does not make the best background, I've set up this Beatles banner as my backdrop:

We use this when we gig to cover the back of the keyboard rig.

One of my co-workers who lives across the country in New Jersey noticed, and sent me this photo from his High School in Lincroft:

Apparently, this mural has been around for decades. He graduated in the mid 80's, and it was around before then. So cool that this school has maintained this for decades for students and staff to enjoy.

If anyone here knows more about it, please let us know!

Hey, Playa! Please do NOT stop posting articles of interest, please. I find them to be great conversation starters/continuers.

I agree, Ringo did a fantastic job on "A Day In The Life". I liken it to Paul's bass lines on "Something". Both could be seen, and is considered by some, as needless overplaying. But, IMHO, they add a wonderful counterpoint to the otherwise elegant songs they embellish. Or maybe that's just me.

Oh, and BTW, that's their erstwhile roadie, Link Removed 'til he triggered the alarm clock. Who knew he was such a musician? :laugh:

Undervalued White Album compositions:

"Long, Long, Long"-This tune is so haunting and quiet.

"Cry Baby Cry"-The random little song scrap at the end makes it.

"Revolution 9"-I think most people skip over this track, but it really does have a melody and structure in its own way. Furthermore, I think many people don't realize the difficulty of assembling a piece of music like this especially considering they were doing it by connecting pieces of tape together.

"I'm a Loser"-Beatles for Sale has some great tunes on it, but I rarely ever hear anyone say "I was listening to Beatles for Sale the other day..."

I do not skip Revolution Number Nine.
It was interesting see The Fab Faux cover that song!

I love the whole album!

I was listening to "Beatles '65" the other day, because (A) I never even heard of "Beatles For Sale" until the '70s, and (2) I've never listened to the UK albums like I did the US albums. Now I'm 'aware' they're butchered, but that's my teenage formative years and I'm sticking with 'em. (sigh) :rollno:

Well, now I can say I've finally ssen the whole thing in its entirety, if this really is all of it. And it seems I wasn't missing very much. I'd seen the individual song videos, the "discussion" with George, and the rooftop concert, of course. The only parts that didn't seem familiar was the sped up "Two of Us" with Paul on bass, Ringo playing boogie woogie piano, "Octopus' Garden", the woodshedding of "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", "I, Me, Mine" and "Across The Universe" and the like.

But, really now, what was that dirge paul was attempting to play on the piano at the beginning?!? It sure seemed to set a dreadful mood! And all the non sequiturs and general lack of continuity had me rewinding & replaying a lotta parts to try to understand what doesn't seem meant to be understood. I certainly hope Peter Jackson can use the "55 hours of original footage and 140 hours of audio recordings" to make a more cohesive film. :whistle:
