All tube combo?

Not that I know of. And here is the reason, lower frequencies require more wattage to make the sound waves travel. A 10 watt guitar combo would be like a 100 watt bass combo. I can't think of any that are currently being made. If you go back far enough in time you can find lots but they will very all over the map in price with not of them being very inexpensive. One thing to consider, get a MESA walkabout combo, or a Genz-Benz Streamliner 600 or 900 head and a cab of your choice. All the best, Cheers.

That's probably about as small as it gets in terms of "modern" dedicated bass tube combos. And I don't know if I'd call the ampeg affordable.

an all tube bass combo that had enough juice to do anything would be really heavy and not practical... hence the piggy back style bassamps like the bassman, or traynor bassmaster.

Found it - It's called the "Drophead" and apparently has been posted on their facebook page sort of like the ampeg heritage B-15N run-up to bassplayer live. Probably debuting at NAMM this january.

Considering that it looks just like the little bastard in terms of inputs/knob layout it's probably that head with an enclosure.

Edit - looks like Jimmy beat me to the name. Anyways, it's 2x 12ax7 and 1x 12au7 with 4x EL84 power tubes - so yeah, probably just the little bastard with a cab. Still cool though.

No - there's no market for it.

People can't hear the difference between a tube amp and an amp with built in emulation, or a pedal to add compression and distortion.

But if you insist, you can plug a 10w head into a big efficient cabinet and it will sound surprisingly loud in your bedroom.

I'm gonna be smart here.. Sorry.. Gents...

Tea used to come in a ply-wood box, about 2' x 2' x 2' in size.. That was back in the late '50's early '60's.. I made the neck from a piece of aluminium pipe.. It had two strings from 1/8' wire cable.. Played like a charm..

A T-Box Bass is a in-expensive as you can get.. Hard to get-and-play in tune.. If ya can't get an old T-Box then a plastic Wash-tub will work.. Doesn't sound as good as ply-wood, though.. :bassist: :hmm:
