Alright, attempting to build a PVC EUB!

Here are some more of the bridge, had to do some more fine sanding to it to get it shaped.Sprayed it with poly urethane, so the sanded surface does not get dirty from handling it.
The gray "weed wacker" cable, is where the piezo cable goes in.

the mini has potential...
first off...the electronics are perfect, don't change a thing there...
the action is too low...you're not getting the right sound it's BUZZZ...BUZZZZ...really unpleasant...I don't know how you'd go about raising the action on that thing...
for strings...you really should try a nylon tape wound like the LaBella's...it will really bring out the "upright" in your EUB...
EDIT: I see a problem...look at your last pic...the string meat needs to sit in the bridge slots, not the silks...longer gauge req'd?...
fix that b4 you touch the action...

Yep, still needs work (maybe I jumped the gun, doing the sound clips before resurfacing the fingerboard
).This one is definitely different for the fact that I sanded and polished the surface of the fingerboard, needs some more sanding done to it for sure (especially near the nut, thats where the the defined buzz is coming from, the intention of this one is to have a "hybrid", of both EUB and electric bass (34" scale). I am happy to report, absolutely no bowing from the tension, which is good news. The bigger ones we're making are using "beefier" steel inside, for the extra tension. Then again, I can always "shave off" the silks on the bridge and I don't think extra depth on the bridge will be a problem if needed. I wanted to have this one use "electric" flats, which I used GHS chromes, but I'm sure tapes would sound excellent.

Well, still 2 more to "get done", both of which are of the upright persuasion. But, I have a thought:
When completed, I want to do some "you tube" footage, possibly with some TB'ers that are local to the MD,DC and VA area (electric, EUB and upright fanatics), if possible at a nearby music store...Jive sound .
**update**
I pm'ed jive1 about doing it at Jive Sound in VA, i'll just have to get back to him about the "whens".
Until then, I will need to see if some folks that are local to the DC metro area would be interested in participating in a "test drive", once we are completed.

Fantastic! this thing just gets better and better. I want to tackle one of these. . . . maybe this summer. Thanks for the update, I always look forward to seeing your progress.
Nicknamed, Darth Vader, Penguin and Tuxedo. The new and improved upright,will be high gloss black w/ white fingerboard and bridge. Had to spend a whole lot of time, putting about 30 coats of sandable primer on the headstock (The headstock is where I started ) every 2 coats I sanded,that's how much it took to get the surface defects out. I fine sanded the surface and these pics show only 2 coats of black (Yes, fisheyes and bubbles are visible right now), It still needs at least 6 or 8 more coats of black (once near completion of the entire bass).Seriously considering to put Sperzel locking tuners on it.

Got any more sound samples? I don't remember hearing anything with the new bridge? Or did I miss that?
I've already went into a studio that I regularly do sessions at and recorded with it, I have to wait to get permission, so I can post those clips, it's not my material to post.

Putting the tuners back on, man, It looks pretty good. Notice the poly spacers inside (white). The black and white idea is coming along.
Used rubber tape, put 2 layers under each tuner as a gasket.

Attached the fingerboard, so I could determine the width for the strings on the nut and the bridge.
