Hi,
I have an acoustic 201 cabinet loaded with the Altec 418-8H 15 inch speakers. I know that these are guitar speakers and cabinet but want to use them for bass guitar.
I was wondering if I had to do anything to protect these speakers from frying? They are rated at 55hz Nominal Free-Air Cone Resonance (whatever that means)....
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I believe that Mike Rutherford from Genesis used this cab for the tracking of The Lamb back in 1974 and am trying to replicate his fuzz bass sound but am worried at playing too loud for fear the speakers will fry.
Thanks,
Jim
