Alternative uses for a bass cab.

I have a Mesa boogie Powerhouse 1x15 that I bought new in about 2005. I haven't gigged much with it as I also had a 2x10 and 4x10 that I preferred to use. So whilst this one has probably had at most 10 gigs in that time unfortunately the tolex got torn so it does not look in as good a nick as it sounds.

Anyway over the past 4 or 5 years I have put it up for sale in various places numerous times on, ebay, facebook market, local rehearsal studios and just got a few enquiries but no bids or offers so it is still in the house unsold it although the other two went really easily.

I have now given up trying to sell it now, so in the interest of recycling I wonder what other non musical purposes I could use it for with or without the speaker.

Sensible suggestions only.
Cheers

Empty speaker cabs make nice kitty condos. They can get inside or sit on top or use it for a scratcher. If you don’t have a cat, adopt one.

Ach! I would take it off your hands, but I surely can’t afford shipping from the UK :banghead: if you really can’t get anybody to buy it, I third or fourth the idea of finding a school that will take it. My kid’s school has two Mesa Expresses for guitars, and I don’t think the Seismic cab they have for bass quite measures up.

That's not that old, but 15s have definitely fallen out of favor among bassists (for good reasons). Seems like you should be able to get something for it though. End table/cat house seem like good alternatives if you can't find a taker!

I was thinking the other day, I have no idea what happened to all the big PA and bass cabs I had back in the day. I think I had some on consignment at a music store that went under. I recently sold a 15" combo amp dirt cheap just so I didn't have to move it ever again. I still have one lead sled head (Hartke LH500) bass head and a power amp from the old frankenrig (BGW 250) that I use to power my studio mons. Other than that, it's all class D and neo for me from here on out.
