Am I being stupid?

I'm trying to find some new strings for my Stingray Classic. The bass came with Super Slinky's, but I'm not really impressed. There's too much finger noise and they are too bright sounding.

I bought a set of D'Addario Half Rounds that I thought were "Super Long Scale", but they turned out to be "Super Light Long Scale" so they didn't fit my bass.

I recently acquired an Ibanez SA300, and I decided to try the half-rounds on it. Aside from being a bit too light I like the sound and feel of the strings. (Hate the bass, but love the strings)

While looking on line for the extra long version of the strings, I found another brand (LaBella Deep Talkin' Bass Quarter Rounds), and I like the description of the sound.

Should I go with the (more expensive) strings based on the description, or should I go with the strings that I know and like?

Anyone know about the LaBella's?

I have limited experience with string-through, but I believe that if they are NOT rated for that use, the manufacturer will include that in their specs.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] is a nice place to check string specs - their stock is extensive and they provide most of the manufacturer info for every string.

Someone else may add more info.
