Canada Am I the only Canuck here!?

Freezing the balls off a brass monkey is how it is.

It's a wicked -26 C with the windchill atm and if you ask me the local wind is worse then the report says. Mind you I'm on foot and just walked to the local library to check out TB and make this post. I guess I'm acclimatized now lol. That's about -15/20 in Fahrenheit. It was into the -30's last night w/o the wind. Helped a friend replace a frozen battery in his truck this aft. Tis the season...❄️

All told it's actually been a good winter so far. Just a little cold snap that's all.

I live just east of Toronto.
It has been freezing here as well.
Warmed up a bit today. Probably around minus five to minus ten...no wind today and sun is shining.
Who cares anyway, I am sitting in my warm music room about ready to put in a couple of hours on my bass.

How’s the music scene in Whitehorse ?

My wife says you should ask an actual Yukon musician, lol.

The Yukon is a very strange place. We are remote and sparsely populated, and Whitehorse is a small town (about 30,000 people) with a lot of musicians and not a lot of places to play.

That said, when we rock- we rock.

The arts community is very supportive and I think we punch way above our weight class when it comes to interesting opportunities to perform, get exposure, or record, and we sometimes have great opportunities to see performances by visiting artists.

Come up for a beverage! We're two hours from Vancouver, and our phenomenal local airline has a seat sale today.

I dont know how you prairies guys do it, I'm in saskatoon the next 2 days, its freaking cold.....

Yeah, it's cold. Wear a parka, a scarf, a toque and mittens instead of gloves. Plug in the car and hopefully the block heater is working. Shovel snow occasionally and wear boots and long underwear if necessary.

Spring will be here soon.

Yeah, it took me a few years to get used to the sometimes freakish prairie winters after coming here from NL back in '91 but the payoff in return is a long motorcycle riding season for those of us so inclined.

Now if they would only start using daylight savings time...

I miser this...
Happy belated Canada Day....we are so blessed to live in such a great country.

What??? No posts since last Canada Day! Do you people only come to life in the winter?

Here I am in California. Born in Vancouver, BC. Played bass in groups in the '60's. Got a day job. Was offered a very lucrative transfer to California in the early '80's. It was so lucrative that I couldn't afford to move back(just joking).

So here I am... an old bass player wondering where all the soul-full ones from the '60's in Vancouver are. Sure is lonely down here ;).
