Well in the meantime...Adam Carolla has a story about when he used to live in a neighborhood where his truck kept getting stolen, so he installed a little kill switch for the fuel line under his seat. When he parked he'd just flip the switch, and no thief would ever think to look for it when they ran out of gas a couple blocks from his house...they'd just think the thing ran out of gas and leave it. So then when it got stolen he'd just have to wander a few blocks and inevitably find his truck, flip the switch, and drive it back home. So there's that ideaI have. I suppose I could rig something so that when the car starts it blasts music from my ambient noise tracks on a loop unless you enter a code. If you take my car you have to endure my noise. Heck. Maybe I’ll guest link it to ugly’s mixer only feedback jams.

fwiw, some pretty good neighborhoods are targets in l.a.—and they are targets because they’re nice or full of up-and-comers. pretty sure i know monster’s area (we met for coffee nearby once) and it qualifies as that. and then there are the popular cars for stealing. my guess is that he’s “lucky” and fits in a venn diagram.
Today's jam is nothing special, and in fact less than planned because I didn't hit record on the input track, so the original guitar sound is absent. I remembered that my HX Stomp serves as a full on USB interface, so I rearranged the bass/guitar/piano area as a separate setup. it was too much having everything running into the synth array. Now that I have gloves that work with the iPad, I am thinking about trying to get by without my Blooper and reproducing its capabilities in iOS software.
It’s definitely a blend of an area. Everything from no money to crazy money. Really nice areas turn dodgy pretty quickly. Old money, new money, pretending to have money. Things that made it an interesting artsy area also make it a bit sketchy. You see the people who made it, the people hustling to make it, and those that got chewed up by this town.
I have the impression that “artsy” neighborhoods are kinda like that around the world, but I haven’t traveled enough to make any sort of qualified opinion on the matter.

Luckily, in Quebec there are lots of opportunities for that.
It’s already in the « long term plans » when all my kids are going to move out.
Sad day since I’ll miss my kids but, another chapter begins I guess.
Miezo, Koszalin, Beads, Valhalla Delay. Recorded a loop to use as background, changed the settings and recorded live over the loop.
Strega is in there too, it's just... I kind of forgot to even try turning up the blend knob to use the delay/filter, so it's not really doing much.
Another improvisation over a chord looped with the Count to 5. This time with a Euclidean Sequencer, the Hy-pre2, triggering drums on Battery4.
Bass sound uses the synthomatic setting on a Line 6 M5 (same as purple fm4) through a Memory Boy Deluxe and Barbershop. I added the tremolo after using Cytomic’s drop plugin.

Pigtronix Infinity Looper seems to have given up the ghost. It won't boot up. Maybe I can troubleshoot some things, but it might be time for the circular file.
The Good News: I'm back in Arizona, but this time with a 30lb case full o' stompboxes, so I oughtta be able to contribute more Ambient Post-Rock Textural Bass Playing recordings to this thread than last time.
The Bad News: My wife was one of the 12,000 Google employees who got laid off on Friday, so what we will be doing in Arizona (and for how long) just took on a whole new dimension of I-Haven't-A-Freakin'-Clue. All short- and medium-term future plans have just gone out the window. fml

I met with someone on Friday and she works at Google - though she didn't lose her job, she was definitely shaken. Hoping for the best for both of you!
