Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Back to basics today.
…okay, I might be using some of that reverb.

…and the jam session this week sparked a few ideas. I’m now droning away with the Erica Sequencer and the Noise Engineering Ataraxic and Desmodus. The trick is using the Erica Joystick II to record a modulation sequence which controls the Ataraxic wave table positions. Oh man this is fun.
sorry, I had to….,

This one didn't come out exactly as planned. I decided on square waves for the big sound, but then added PWM and detuned them and I think it was just more than was needed. I am very intrigued by the crystalline high range of the Super 6 though. Lots of potential for background sounds, high harmonies, etc. But more subtlety is needed.

any tool out there that can sustain a piano chord of my selected voicing so I can practice chords/arpeggios/scales on fretless bass?
I can make my own voicings on a keyboard so I dont need a chord player type thing.

i have a few soft synths but the sounds are too weird/complex whatever to practice along with.
And the « sustain » option only works with certain settings……

I freakin hated playing a chord on a piano at school pressing the sustain pedal hopping the chord would sound long enough for the &$&#=/+# simmandl arco exercises.

first world problems but hey, a guy needs to practice here.
:)

EHX Freeze pedal or its fancier sister the Superego Synth Engine will sustain infinitely.

If you’re willing to put in the time to build a sample library then an SP404 might get you there (at least the MK2). Looping samples of each piano key and then trigger them

You could build that very easily, and for free, in VCV Rack or Cardinal.
