RE: old batteries - does anyone else think that more recent batteries are more likely to leak? I feel like I've experienced leaking batteries more in the past 5 years or so - I just out a pedal I haven't used in a long time (Black Cat Bass Octave Fuzz) and it had a (not leaking) battery in it, with an expiration date of 2009!
I've got an empty rack waiting for me to load it up. I even have a Modulargrid for it. I just don't know where I'd put it or play it.
I have only anecdotal experience, but I don't think so. I remember when I was a little kid in the 70s and my toys would get leaky batteries fairly often. I have heard a rumor that Duracells tend to leak more, but who knows, that could just be due to the fact that Duracell is a popular brand and therefore when it leaks it gets noticed more. Would need to buy a variety of batteries and do some kind of test to see the mean time to start leaking. My engineer hat somehow just landed on my head now...

I've been beta testing it. Instant favorite. The chorus sounds great with feedback for reverbish stuff (since it slops the delay times around). Glad it's officially released so I can grab a faceplate, I get the feeling it's gonna stay installed for a good long while.

Perfect Circuit leaked it a day or two ago in an email or post and I started searching but couldn’t find anything. I’ve been looking for something to replace the Erica Black Delay just because it’s gigantic and taking up too much space for a delay in my system.
Speaking or Erica and PC, they had the Perkons in stock last weekend with a 10% coupon. I almost grabbed one but I’m not sure if I want that or the Syntrx II.
I’m also wrestling with a decision another big ticket item.
ha!. i'm dumping my versio stuff, as i got some happy nerding fx-aid pros. fit my work thing better . . .
More harmonics and drones. This time entirely in Bitwig just to see what I can pull off.
Thanks for the response! I totally missed it - we lost power on Tuesday afternoon in the worst windstorm where I live in Oakland in the 15 years I have lived here. I was actually recording when there was an explosion outside and the power went out - my wife saw the flash through the curtains (we had closed them because she was freaking out about the weather) - transformer on the pole in front of my next-door neighbor blew - much worse than leaking batteries! The electric company said it would be fixed by tomorrow, but this morning I talked to a couple of my neighbors and there is no way - THREE TREES fell after I went to look on Tuesday - one neighbor's house was demolished, and the other two trees are just sitting there blocking the street in a tangle of wires.

Started writing some new music after a break. This track probably needs a good bit carved out of it. There’s probably too much going on.
I find after a break you’ve loads of ideas coming to throw at a track and they get a little more subdued (tasteful) as you go on.
I used the Count to Five pedal a bit in this one with the bass chords.
Other bass parts were played on Serum.

Here’s a very quick vid I made of a Behringer TD-3 (303 knock off), which I got recently for 60 quid 2nd hand played through some pedals.
I’m sequencing it with Reaper for some generative basslines.
It sounds great with the OC5 and Sea Machine IMO.

Power was restored almost exactly 4 days after it went out. I miss the quiet, the flickering of the candle in the dark, the lack of internet & TV - but do NOT miss no heater with temps down to 37!
I keep getting tempted by the idea of picking up a keyboard synth - although I must say that I have much less G.A.S. than any other time in my life. But then an interesting Atlansia 6-string fretless appeared on Reverb - I have generally sworn off 6-string (don't need that high C) and fretless, but I have always been intrigued by Atlansia. If you go see, it's pretty "cheap" since used Atlansia in good shape are pretty rare. Just fantasizing for now, I think a synth will be more beneficial to my creative endeavors - just gotta find the right one...

Rainy day today, so I postponed a road trip and stayed in to practice for an upcoming gig. Working on a new synth piece that I hope to stretch out into a long jam at the show. Still learning things about the Mother 32 years after owning it, since I suck at RTFM after the "get started" tutorial, but finally getting around to figuring out how to edit and manipulate the sequences on the fly during performances. The Mother 32 is a great piece of kit, but like a lot of modern gear you have to learn the button pushing sequences and how to read the various LEDs to keep from getting lost. Cool thing is that Moog issued a firmware update a while back and now the sequencer can run backwards, pendulum, or even randomly, so it's easy to switch things up during a set and keep the listener from getting too bored (hopefully).
I also rearranged my bass pedalboard for the show. I would love to put a few more pedals on but this is all I fit on this one board, and I want to limit my setup to just one board as I have enough freaking gear to drag out as it is. So these are the essentials. Tuner first. The Ditto looper is in series with the volume pedal on the left and run through the LS-2, so I can fade the looper out gradually while still playing other stuff.
2 synth pedals, the Bananana Matryoshka and the Boss SY-1, the Darkglass for general dirt duty, the Superego for drony goodness, the Triode Leviathan filter with expression pedal, and finally the DD-7 delay. That should do the trick for an hour or more. That Leviathan filter is one of the best gear picks I've made as far as this ambient bass thing goes, it has great resonance, an LFO, and can run as HP, LP, or BP. Plus it looks cool as hell.

4 days! hard in our society. we had one that last 14 hours and it really brought home how much we rely on this stuff.
6-string fretless is the sh!t. get it. you might be surprised about how expressive a high c can be.
on long loop: hydrasynth. their new firmware has some great stuff and they update quite a bit.
