Meh. As bassists, we should be inoculated against the fear of never being noticed or acknowledged for what we do.
apparently it’s possible to mod for an external recording button. I haven’t done it but have thought about it.
Time for some opinionated content.
I, for one, didn't know about what has happened to Moog, it's pretty sad stuff. This guy's theory is as good as any, I guess. I don't really understand this stuff but I dislike Behringer, which makes it easy to agree with him in my ignorance. At least I have a few pieces of genuine pre-2023 Moog gear to brag about in the years to come.

I really hate how the music industry is just fodder for rich people to speculate with their money.
On the Cosmos, I wrote them and asked if it could be done. They said if they did another version, they would include my proposed mod. But honestly, it is a real joy to use even in its current form. I just get lost in it.
in other news, I’m selling some modules. My prices are good: 65% of new, not including taxes. I sold 3 today and got lots more queries.
A guy just wrote me and said he’s in town for business and lowballed me. But he made the mistake of telling me which hotel he’s staying in, which is one of the fanciest in town. No, you don’t get an additional discount, pal.

i don't know if he's trying to convince himself or help others.
these are things i think about every week (day?).
most of us have grown up in a time when (some) people could make a living from playing music—for the most part, this has not been the case throughout human history. and making a living creating one's own music has been the province of a very, very small group of people (and a lot of the time that was at the mercy of the very rich people hiring them to do it: the church or "royalty").

reminds me of this film, which is both a love letter to the avant garde and a merciless skewering of it—so both hilarious and deeply depressing given how i conduct my artistic life.
(SPOILER:
the protagonist is ready to pack it all in and "go commercial" . . . the last scene is running into a person who says he attended a reviled performance of the protagonist's music, who assumes that this person hated it. person says, "it changed my life")

yep, the guy in the 1st video makes music for “modern royalty”
companies and such, sound design and sample packs,
so definitely yes, at the mercy of others.
Also evidently makes money with YT. In one of his vids he’s worried about paying rent since one got demonitized.
So Eventide sent me a replacement pedal and a prepaid shipping box to return the glitching pedal. It appears that the new pedal solves the problem but we'll see. Took about 5 minutes to transfer all the settings from my glitchy one, popped it back on my board, and played a 2 hour practice tonight with no issues. The real test will be Monday but I am cautiously optimistic.
Got a Hologram Microcosm yesterday and I'm not sure if I just got something awesome or just spent 425 bucks on a big smear/diffusion box. So I expect to be either really pissed or really happy next week, depending on how progress goes. I definitely don't like it early in the signal chain, gonna put it after the delays and before the H9 and verbs tonight and see how that goes.
Had a big space on the board that I needed to fill up, I've just been having a hard time finding something new/unique that I don't have already that isn't a noise or dirt box.
