Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

This is supposed to ABC (class thing). Almost done. Any thoughts? There is a 3 string CFA# guitar through a CB Lossy and Geiger Counter. So... not all bass, but all the high stuff is bass via Whammy and fuzzes:

I still have tomorrow to get a glitchy ending and do some more mixing and balancing where there is more of the main track plus the hard panned versions in it. Thst is just me not doing it now. Lot of automation. I also have super bit crushed and EQ automated parts I didn't use. Might or might not.

for example in loop A would be the high gain, and straight out would be the low gain. avoiding 2 separate loops and extra cables.

Just so I'm clear: In ^^^that scenario the high gain gizmo in loop A is also running through the low gain gizmo as well, no?

Does BOSS still make the PSM-5? Footswitchable loop selector -- well, only one loop, so you're just selecting In the signal path or Out -- but also includes a 9V power distro that can run 4 or 5 other pedals.

Alternatively, I'm pretty sure Loop-Master makes what you're looking for.

you are correct, I typed it wrong.
loop A is going to be high gain and B low gain.
I got the boss line selector, now the fun of remaking the entire main board begins.
I hate it just as much as changing strings.

buying more crap just as I said to myself a few months ago that i would stop putting money in this bottomless pit of music « stuff ».

This is kinda a finalish version. Some minor work but mostly there and 3 diff time sigs.sits.

EDIT: To be clear, it is supposed to be ABC with transitions for a specific game sequence. Bass is CGCF EBMM and guitar is MIM Strat CF A#. Lots of Chase Bliss and bit crushing in pedal and DAW form.

I need to read this whole thing, but my initial glance says it should fit here.

‘Like brushing my teeth’: how Michiru Aoyama writes, records and releases an album every day
Definitely belongs! I subscribed on YouTube - does that mean I'll get a notification of a new track every day?!! I don't interact with YouTube as social media, but am interested to see what this ends up looking like.

This is my electronic listening these days:

Which I'm listening to at the same time as this (which I am still enjoying):

Starting this tonight.
Elektro Moskva (2013) ⭐ 6.9 | Documentary
Elektro Moskva is an essayistic documentary about the Soviet electronic age and its legacy. The story begins with the inventor of the world's first electronic instrument, Leon Theremin, unveiling the KGB's huge pile of fascinating devices, some of which were musical. They all came into existence as a by-product of a rampant defense industry. Nowadays, those aged and abandoned 'musical coffins', as solidly made as a Kalashnikov, are being recycled and reinterpreted by the post-Soviet generations of musicians, sound collectors and circuit benders. The story of the Soviet synthesizers as an allegory to the everyday life under the Soviet system: nothing works, but you have to make the best out of it. An electronic fairy tale about the inventive spirit of the free mind inside the iron curtain- and beyond.

okay, this is going on hold. I don’t speak Russian and I can’t manage the subtitles.

Just home from an electronic gig. Used my old trusty Westone Spectrum bass tonight. Was great fun. My Ric has been my main gig bass for a long time, so it's good to take this 80s Japanese beast out to remind me why I love it so much. This was my only bass for many years, and most of what I learned about music was learned on this instrument. Plus it works great with all these pedals.

Absolutely exhausted now after unloading all my gear, winding down a bit before I pass out.
