Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Selling some of my Erica black modules, maybe my Medusa and Circuit. Might revisit the idea of selling a few pedals (Zoia I’m looking at you) and basses too.
Buying plans include the new Torso S4 sampler and their sequencer. Not sure what else yet, but I’m loaded up with enough gear that I need to move some out so I can bring in new experiments. I’ve had my eyes on a few mixers including euro rack mixers.
I’m still interested in a bass vi and/or baritone.
I've got a T1. Ask me anything. So far I love it though I'm still getting to grips with it.
Question for the group -- what distortion pedals have you found to work well with line level signals? Sunday I took some time and ran the mod oscillator of my Easel command through different pedals. I found it was generally too hot for them. My next experiment will be to put a matrix mixer in between to see if that helps.
In terms of buying, I saw someone in Toronto is selling used Random Source modules and I've always been curious about Serge style distortion. I also like that they're big and well laid out, so I might try there if they'll ship for a decent price.

Line level IME, the best was Dr Scientist Elements. Blend was awesome (and usually I hate clean blends on Dirt). Its pretty "fizzy" but can be helped with EQ after the pedal.
It always worked regardless of the input signal. I had two at one point but sold both because I needed the Scrilla.

Nice. I’m probably going more in a humbucker direction, which might mean a custom Dunable.
That’s a great tip. I’ve looked at their baritone offerings but missed this.
I actually wouldn't necessarily recommend a Bass VI - I have some issues with my approx. '96 MIJ one. I love it - the sound of the pickups and the feel of the neck (I play with a pick often but also got to where I could play it with fingers) but the bridge/trem assembly is a nightmare! Not sure if they've addressed it on the new ones, but on mine it's very unstable, plus the trem placement affects the string height and also the E string hits the edge of the bridge - I want to get it addressed - maybe with a hardtail type of bridge?
That's good info. It doesn't help you with your situation, but I appreciate the insights.
Does yours have a locking trem or is it the non-locking one they put on the Squier versions? I have a non-locking one on my Squier Jag guitar and for the life of me I can't understand why non-lockers even exist. To save a few pennies?
I had the Squier and the bridge was horrible.
It's supposed to be locking but could never get it to lock! Granted, I never took it apart. I need someone with more skill and confidence than I have to have a look. I am fortunate - I got mine almost for free in a couple of big transactions back when I had funds! (that ended when I "bought" a house)
