Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Here's a track I released, has about 4 or 5 bass tracks on it.
It's sort of my Jeff Caxide tribute
Korg just presented the Mark 2 of their NTS-1 synth. announced for us$169,99 or 129 € public.
For broker people, well it's time to grab the buckets of Mk1 that are going to be on the market.
New features include a multitouch key board, noise oscillator, fuzz/od, 8step sequencer with step by step and on the fly recording.
It comes with entirely customizable appearance and features. Korg gives access to deep editing through their Logue SDK software and STL files for 3D printers.
There is a huge community of NTS-1 users so expect a lot of mods. People did many things with Mk1, from turning it into a DAW interface to a groovebox to a full blown multi-effect.
Now with even more connectors for you West Coast and Eurorack enthusiasts.
All this with its already existing features of digital oscillator, multimode filter, 3 LFOs, 3 stereo effect processors, full arpeggiator.

Imagine the big white cube that is a room in an art museum. Now imagine that someone—for an unknown reason—takes a bunch plywood to build a room inside that room (but adds no sound treatment) which is where the band plays. Addendum:
Played a gigs a few times at a venue in Montreal that has since shut down, the catacombs.
There where two areas to set bands during the shows, set up one side then the other plays, etc…..
But stage left had a weird arch fake cathedral type crap the made the drums play inside a « box », the return of the cymbal sounds was absolutely unbearable for drummers.
99% of the time they shut off all monitors or in ears once the gig started.
And played from visual cues and asked band members to turns amps towards drums for onstage monitoring
Dumb as dumb can get.
Working on signal routing from Ableton into Maschine and/or Reaktor. Maschine has a really nice grain delay that I like using. Reaktor has virtual eurorack modules I can assemble then tweak using my Midifighter Twister controller. It’s not the same as a full rack experience but it’s not bad.
So apparently the therapy for concussions is now "exposure therapy" which is cool but it's going to be interesting to find my limits. I went for a walk outside in daylight without sunglasses for the first time since Jan 3rd and let me tell you THE SUN GOT TOO LOUD.
In the meantime, here's me messing around with a feedback patch going into and out of the Buchla. I'm trying to get more interesting tones out of the mod oscillator but running it through a bass distortion (bass pedals are always the best on synth) and also using the wavefolder on the complex oscillator to emphasize different harmonics.
I was a little heavy handed with the filtering over the top and would redo that, but the spring reverb is a delight for feedback patching. Touchy, but fun.

Yeah I’m off work with a concussion. Freak accident that I didn’t see coming. That’s why I was taping over all my LEDs. And gigged in sunglasses indoors. Light sensitivity. Zero stars do not recommend.

I was fortunate to see them in 2014 - after Florian Schneider left - but still an experience! I just can't justify this one, for a variety of reasons. But would love to go if someone gave me tickets!
I'll just enjoy listening to them when I feel so moved...

I didn't know they were touring again. I'll have to keep an eye out for a closer show, LA is a bit far lol.
Yeah - I think it's the only show/s! More of a residency than a tour? If circumstances had me closer I would definitely go.
Wiat- maybe we should have a TB Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing-fans of Kraftwerk gathering and go to one (or more)!
I was eyeing that Kraftwerk series and considering which night to get tix for.
They say only idiots do the same thing twice expecting different results…..no wait……
