I’ve had my eyes on them.
I also spotted another piece of gear I want at a suspicious price at sweetwater. I haven’t ordered yet because I don’t want to trigger the vend-gineers follow up calls for the next 7 years.

looks metal. At first I was like “is that a wireless transmitter?” And then I realized it was your car key.
I feel totally offended as a Pbass main player that uses his instrument in all sorts of weird f&&@& up ways.
Staying on the Sci Fi movie theme, went to see Dune part 2.
Damn that was a satisfying out to the movies.
Im a huge nerd of the books, but they actually made it work somehow for people that dont know the Dune universe.
Sure I can b!cht and be all simpsons comic book guy, but once I let go and took the movie as something completly appart from the books I had a blast.
The sound track of those movies is freakin Epic, the FX when the Bene Gesserit use the voice gave me shivers.
Worth seeing at the movies or with huge home theatre system.
And with Gummies!!!!!!

as you say, dvd on home (not huge) system can be epic.

Denis Villeneuve Québec represents!!!
The books are either you love em or they are meh. Plus they are lengthy and quite complicated…..but I digress.

I am also a Denis fanboi. Hans Zimmer did the music for Dune I believe, as well as Blade Runner 2049, another Denis film and one of my favorite films in recent years.
I heard that Denis already has a screenplay for Dune: Messiah, which is the immediate sequel book to Dune, but he says it be a while before he gets around to it. Nevertheless, having read Dune 2 years ago I went out the other week and got a copy of Messiah, just finished it a few days ago. It was a good book, but it doesn't inspire me to go out and read all dozen or whatever books in the series. We'll see later I guess.
Previously, Denis Villeneuve used to work with Johann Johannsson for his film scores on movies like Sicario and Arrival. I was a big fan of Johannsson from back when I saw him live at a Gatherings electronic concert in Philadelphia years ago before he got big, and I own 3 or 4 of his albums. Too bad he passed away so young.

Since you already read the first 3 Dune books, I strongly recommend you read God Emperor Dune aka book 4. Its my second favourite of the OG series, 2nd only to the first book.
Definitely skip all those written his son, not worth it.
I watched Dune part 1 at home and loved it - saw Dune 2 at the San Francisco Matreon, allegedly the only true full-sized IMAX, but didn't like it nearly as much and just ended up with a sore neck (didn't realize you're supposed to put your seat back lol)
I'm watching the new Shogun series now, and the music strikes me as very Zimmer/Dune-like. My koto player's mother (who is also a Japanese music performer and instructor) complained that there are almost no Japanese instruments used, so I'm kind of listening for that as I watch - I detect one here and there, but it's mostly what strikes me as ambient-electronic. Part of me is glad it doesn't use clichéd music which probably wouldn't be period-correct anyway, and at least it isn't obtrusive like in some films...
