And here's a pic playing my 8-string piece with the Chase Bliss Tonal Recall - I like that you can see the pedal at the bottom of the pic (on the original I can see the dip switch settings!) and the flower!

I'll post a live clip later - someone sent me a brief video they took, you can hear the delay almost self-oscillating.

I've only read the first 2 Dune books. Messiah is book 2, the movies are both book 1 "Dune". And I'll take a look at God Emperor.

You’re right I got that dad brain going on.
Agreed Messiah is good but not as good as the 1st one.
3rd and 4th are better than Messiah IMO.
Skip 5 and 6 unless you’re a real fan.
It’s an entirely different storyline.
5 is promising and has one of the best characters in all the Dune series.
6 is utter garbage.

my order from favorite to least would be
1-4-3-2-5-6

I was looking into Invalid Link Removed and thinking about whether I really need another synth plugin. I went over my notes for the last 4 releases and figured out what I'm actually using for voices/parts. It's roughly this:

50% Eurorack
20% software synths (VST/CLAP)
15% software modular (VCV Rack or Bitwig Grid)
5% Strega/Minibrute 2S
5% other hardware synths
5% bass

But those software synths are really spread out between several of them. My absolute favorite synth plugin is Aalto, and it only got about 2.5% of the total action.

So I feel less bad about not using the bass as much, and also think maybe I shouldn't get more synth plugins.

...but Myth is really damned cool and I will probably get it anyway. Less for the resynthesis and more for the transformers/modules in it, it's almost like a modular environment itself.

(Oh, and I read the first Dune book a couple of years ago. I definitely see how it was influential on both SF and fantasy, but the writing also came off as kind of goofy in places. "I, Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, twirling my sinister mustache evilly, will rule the entire galaxy with an iron fist, bwa ha ha ha!" sort of stuff. Haven't seen the new movies, thought the David Lynch one was just... ugh and the SciFi miniseries didn't really grab me either.)

Where They May (part 2) sounds great. It has some sounds that remind me of an older project of mine, so maybe I'm biased :)

Okay, I love you all but here's a confession. We watched Dune Part 2 last night and both found ourselves......bored. The sound design and worms were both utterly fantastic. I could listen to the score happily. But as a movie it didn't grab me. [Extremely mild spoiler ahead] Three disclaimers: I was "high" on Imodium rather than gummies, I may not be in the best political frame of mind for a "member of a royal family is actually the messiah" narrative, and I have always hated war movies, which is what I think this is, ultimately.

I thought it was thoroughly decent, but not great.
