Keep the bigger box, get a blank panel to cover up the gap for now. It's all too easy to find something else useful for that spot...

New ebow-ish gizmo that rotates magnets to excite strings. Honestly I like the piano demos better than the bass ones, and I don't have a piano, but I'm tempted preordered one anyway.

Noticed the Polyend Tracker was on deep discount at Perfect Circuit so I knew something was up. Today there’s an announcement about the Tracker+ with a bunch of upgrades (hardware and software).

It’s not out if the question. The 4MS purchase was specifically to have a compact item on the desktop. The 104 idea is still floating around but this was so I could have the Zoia and a in/out module for plugging the bass or Micrifreak in and being set with a headphone out and an array of effects to mess with. And potentially to rig up with a MyVolts battery pack adapter.
Some of those samples sound like they made this just for you personally.
Seems like a neat toy, and tempting. A few of those sounds I think I could get from using the EHX Superego and a volume pedal, but some are unique.
I've never used an ebow, though, and I've heard it tough to learn. I guess if it were easy more people would use them?

I never had much luck with an ebow on bass. Not enough force to get the strings going itself except maybe verrrrrrry slowly, and designed for the wrong string spacing too. It sounds like magic when people get it going though!
Ferrous is probably tricky to control if you're trying to play something melodic with intention, but for drones and happy accidents it should be just the thing.

That sounds pretty cool. Surprised to see Moog drop another weirdo box. Along with the Subharmonicon they are doing some weird, cool stuff with this line. And still with that lovely wooden case instead of cheap plastic, gotta love that.
This? Well I expect a better intro vid from Moog, honestly.
What is "Moog" these days anyway? I think it's interesting to see anything that comes out at this point! Maybe they'll hit a grand slam with the (rumored) new polyphonic synth - they're holding back until then?!!
Well, they are still in Asheville, at least, and when I tried that Moog One...wow.

Yeah, I feel like everyone is simply showing off all their stuff before the show this time instead of hinting/teasing.
The electroacoustic prototype thing is all I want from Korg. Looking forward to more demos this year, and maybe someday it'll be a real product.
Of all the new Superbooth hardware announcements, the thing that most grabs me is Befaco Oneiroi. Same general drone/doom mood as Make Noise Strega but more feature-y (though part of what I like about Strega is its relative simplicity). Oscillator, looper, LFO, multimode filter, resonator, delay and "ambience/spacetime" (presumably reverbish), all stereo. I could definitely see myself using it. But I don't need it and it'd be a disruption to how I have my synth corner set up.
Soma Labs Flux is also great, super expressive, played with handheld magnets, with some incredibly sweet theremin/Ondes Martenot tones and a variety of other synth stuff (brutal distorted resonator, FM tones, supersaw/filter, etc.) One more to go on my "just won the lottery, bought a new house and will have my own synth room" list, though it's surprisingly going to be priced about $1000 (I was expecting 3-4 times that).
