if i’m understanding you correctly, what you’re talking about is being recorded in studio/computer, not live. is that correct?

if so, imo, that’s different from live with other live instruments.

Yeah, it's me recording stuff with myself. Definitely different from playing live with other people.

I know a lot of people (in many genres) avoid reverb and delay a lot more when planning live performances because they don't know what the room is going to sound like.

ime, the recording environment allows you to sculpt it a lot more.

I’m assuming it qualifies. It’s out of production and the marketing materials I’ve seen call it a six string bass but it looks like there are unwrapped strings so I’d go bass vi.

Still sounds very « sterile and brittle »
I use the Micro POG sometimes but always with dirt to hide that brittle « fakeness ».

This one seems huge for a pedal board.
Can a Helix do any of those sounds?

I'm pretty sure I can get those sounds out of my Stomp XL, so a Helix can likely get it. Never been a fan of the Pog sound, always kinda grates on me.

Same, but when I need the OCT up, its the only viable option. So use dirt as previously mentioned.
From what I hear in the demo the OCT down still sounds terrible. IMO....etc.......
So In you opinion, an HX would be a better buy than that huge POG?

(no interested in purchasing at all, just want to know other peoples opinons/experiences)

Meaning you've never found another pedal that does an OCT up you're happy with? The one on the Stomp/Stomp Xl/Helix is really damn good and if you find it too clean, you can just route it throuh some other things on the pedal to grit it up. Tracks flawlessly and can be crystal clear if you want it to be. Or not. And you can even have another on that, an oct higher.

I have the HX Effects, which as far as I know is the same effects as the Helix but just without the cab/amp models. Anyway, there is a octave/synth effect in there that has a bit of dirt to it that I like (the name is something like Seismic Synth, but don't quote me). I'm a big fan of the HX/Helix, but I doubt it can do everything the Pog 3 can do.

The guitar player in my band has played thousands of gigs all over the world with his old band and now his only fx pedal is the big version.
And he was a pedal minimalist. I guess that says a lot about the versatility of that piece of equipment

I have the HX, the bigger one(Stomp XL). What's really nice is when you use those pitch things and then run em through other stuff, you get some serious dense pads if that's your thing (it's my thing). I don't use the HX for my ambient stuff for the most part, I use the big board. But I use it at all gigs. I have a nice patch set up that has all of the basics you'd need, and then turn things on and off as needed. In my case, that's a comp, chorus, pitch up, pitch down, a slight verb for soloing, and an envelope filter (which is also really responsive). I have used it on some of my ambient stuff, too.

Yeah, I tried one in my brief bass vi period. It didn’t quite work for me but was a cool instrument.

So apparently I missed the last 2 or 3 days worth of posts because this stupid software won't notify me consistently.

Anyway, at a gig we did a couple of weeks ago I made heavy use of the EHX Superego, as well as my Triode Leviathan filter pedal and reverb/delay. Even did a solo ambient bass piece in between synth-heavy tunes. The Superego is great for drones and sustains, though it does have a characteristic sound to it which some may not like (I do).

I had the same issue, then I checked these two boxes in Preferences, saved, then re-logged back in…no idea why, but it seems to be notifying like the old days now. : )

Yes, and it handles chords and things, too. You can control how long it fades out a captured note; turning the knob all the way up basically keeps it indefinitely. It has like three different modes on the toggle switch.

It should have two foot switches
One for stacking notes and the other one for on/off.
